Every business needs an income to make it economically viable. And in a very simple way, this income needs to be more than what the business is spending. In other words, though the income is not the profit of the business, but it is what constitutes the most important element of the profit, for which every business should survive.

Here are 5 fundamental activities that lead to income generation

Learning : Today, knowledge is the most powerful thing we have. In other words, the more the knowledge a person has, the better his or her chance of becoming successful. So your first income producing activity should be to learn as much as possible about not only your chosen line of business, but also about all those people and businesses that have been successful.

Prospecting : A prospect is a person who has the potential to become a customer but is not yet one. Prospecting is the activity of attracting as many prospects as possible because the higher number of prospects you have, the better it is for your business. If you have an online business, it would mean generate a good volume of Internet traffic to your website, because if the website cannot get a high number of visitors, then how can you expect to find many customers. Similarly, if you have an offline store, you need enough number of people to walk in first. However prospecting begins by understanding what your product or service is and who can be your customers.

Marketing : Every business needs to take its product or service to the customer, otherwise would the prospect know about the business? This act of taking the business to the prospect is referred to as marketing that may be further divided into many activities such as advertising, sales, promotion and others. Marketing also involves market research and surveys and other activities that allow the business to understand the market both before and after the product or the service has been launched.

Expectation of leadership : As the entrepreneur you must have some expectations, and they are not just related to your business, but from your own self as well. Of course these two are related how you perform reflects on the income your business earns. You can set your expectations such as an income target for the short term, midterm and long term. Having done this, you will now need to create a plan that will help you meet these targets.

Gratitude : Repeat business often becomes very important for a business to have a steady stream of income. So having done business with a person, you should now show your gratitude and tell the person thank you. Always remember the famous phrase the customer is the king. Make gratitude a way of life and people will be pleased enough to do repeat business with you.

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.

The top three things for me are: 1. Maintaining a 6 figure income year in and year out. 2. Creating and promoting my own products. 3. Income not solely dependent upon my personal effort. How about yours?[/quote:1igrdgib] I would have to say mine were: 1. Monthly Residual Income that exceeds all expenses by 110% 2. Re: Need help in Team Building Activity.. Re: Need help in Team Building Activity.. - Team Building Activities are my favorite part. Last time our team was out for an expedition. We got a map and had to find the cave were we also slept and on our way there were other activities. It was an extreme team building and it was organized by a specialized company.
