Home Business Expert: Establishing A Connection

Establishing a connection with your prospect goes a long way towards making a successful home business or home based business. This can be done in several ways of which the Internet is probably the best because of the many opportunities it provides. It is not only the best medium for establishing a connection with a prospect, but is also the fastest, easiest and the most confidential way of doing so. Yes, the Internet can truly be utilized for establishing a connection and building trustful relationship.

For establishing a connection, you need to understand the desire and the preferences of your prospect. Do remember that the prospect can become your customer if you can understand him or her and then offer something that the person needs. Establishing a connection serves this purpose as it helps you understand the prospect and thus this is a key act for any business, including your home based enterprise.

But establishing a connection begins with knowing who a prospect is and here marketing can help you. If marketing is considered to be a means of making connections, every marketer would do well to learn with whom to connect as well as how to connect in order to serve its prospects to the highest level and when this is done, business success and expansion is just a matter of time.

Home business owners interested in business relationships are always on the lookout to communicate with people and establishing a connection because you never know who can be that next big customer. The key here is never to miss out on an opportunity to reach out. If nothing, you at least can know someone new and have a new friend.

Establishing a connection can be done both online and offline. On the web if you have a website, you can carry a form where you ask the visitors to fill out and let you know their preferences. There can also be a guestbook where the visitors to your website can post and let you know their thoughts. Plus of course there is the email option using which people can send you emails (and you can then answer back) – this too lets you establish a connection with your prospect. Remember, communication is a key in establishing a connection.

Establishing a connection offline? This can be done by participating at fairs and local trade shows. Be friendly and reach out to as many people as possible – you never know who is a prospect and who is not – and you never know which prospect can convert.

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
