Home Business Expert: Importance of a Personal Note

You might be offering the best product or the service and might have the most effective business plan, but your business venture can still fail if you are not maintaining a great relationship with your customers. The fact is, in a business, the relationships you make with your customers can matter a lot and this can be the crucial difference between success and failure. They can not only come back for a repeat business, but a happy customer can also refer your business to others and such independent referrals are always extremely effective. And of course a happy customer himself/herself can be a long term customer.

The entire process of sales has to be finely designed to make a good impression. It is always advisable never to appear desperate to sale your product or service. Yes you must never hard sell because firstly, you will surely come across desperate and might transmit this idea that your business is not doing that well. And secondly, no one likes to be pushed around, and if you are too aggressive, this is exactly how the prospect will feel.

Following up after the sale has taken place is also very important, and this is true no matter whether the sale has happened online or offline. Sadly, this is quite rare, and so this is where the opportunity is for you to make a difference and strike up a relationship with the buyer. You can send the person a personal note of thanks for doing business with you either through email or you may also call the person up. This should quite easy to do because you must be having some contact information of the person. Also tell the person with your personal note of thanks that you will always be available to answer any questions or concerns. And if it is the buyer who has made the first contact after the sale and you happened to be away at that time, do call back immediately on return and thank the person for making the call.

A personal note and a good relationship with the buyer are sure to benefit the business in the long run. For example, there might be a problem in a future transaction where there are delays in shipping or come computer glitch that is holding you up, and if you just inform the person he/she will understand simply because you have a great relationship with the buyer.

So a personal note adds that personal touch to your business it is a foolproof formula to make your business a long term success story.

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.
