Should I Use Article Marketing or Not?

Let me start by personally thanking Travis Sago "The Bum Marketer" because had it not been for him, article marketing would probably not be nearly as big as it is today. I'm not saying that people haven't been writing and submitting articles for the purpose of internet marketing for a long time, because they have. But an extra special thanks goes out to Travis and his Bum Marketing method.

Because of Travis, article marketing has been elevated to a level nobody ever expected before. But is article marketing all it has been cracked up to be? Is it the be all and end all that so many people say it is? As somebody who is heavily into article marketing, you would think that I'd be the first to jump in and say that it's the best thing since sliced bread. However, the truth is, as with everything else in this world, article marketing has its positives and negatives. I am going to give you a little information about them both so you can decide if article marketing is for you or not.

On the positive side, article marketing is free and can be great for somebody without any money. You can set up a free blog as your home site if you want and submit your articles to all the hundreds of free directories on the internet. So you definitely won't find a cheaper marketing method. Also, once your articles are out there, they are always out there and will continue to passively market for you. Just one article can bring you visitors for years to come, unlike something like PPC where you have to pay for each visitor to your website.

On the negative side, article marketing does take skill. You have to be a pretty good writer and know how to properly construct an article if you're ever going to bring visitors to your site. The truth is that not everybody has article writing skills. Furthermore, English isn't the native language for many internet marketers and with most online sales going to English speaking countries, not having a command of the language can put you at a severe disadvantage. There is also the fact that article marketing tends to work quite slowly. One article will rarely bring you a lot of traffic so you have to keep writing and submitting more articles for it to work effectively. Article marketing takes a lot of work.

If you are just starting out with internet marketing, you'll probably want to use article marketing to minimize your expenses and learn the ropes of the business. Once you begin to money online']);"> make money online you might want to start incorporating other forms of marketing into your daily business routine.

Article marketing isn't perfect, no marketing method is, but it does work even if it takes a while.

I would definitely say that article marketing is a great way to get your online business going even with its faults, and you should certainly use it to your advantage!
