Business Opportunity - The Vehicle In Pursuit of Happiness

Business opportunity and education are the two most common ways that entrepreneurs use to create the financial future that people dream of. They are the vehicles that people most often turn to in their pursuit of happiness. Money does not make people happy but it does relieve the stress of not having any. I watched the movie, "In Pursuit of Happiness", last night. That is one inspirational movie that every entrepreneur should watch before considering a business opportunity.

In the movie, Will Smith plays a stressed out husband and father. His job is selling expensive, overpriced medical scanners and he barely makes ends meet with his sales. One day he sees how insurance brokers live and decides he wants to become a broker. In the process of pursuing his dream, he loses his home, his wife, and his friends.

Despite the hardships he never loses sight of his dream. He stays focused on the tasks he needs to accomplish and he does them to the best of his ability. He went above and beyond the expected requirements every day. When he was disappointed he tried harder and looked for better ways of doing the job.

He worked for 6 months for the brokerage for the chance of getting a job. He was not paid one cent for his time at the brokerage during this time. He was competing with 19 other people, who were also vying for the one job that would be awarded at the end of the 6 months.

Right to the very end he was plagued by one obstacle after another. He never quit, he never complained and he never stopped trying. He won the job and very nearly self sabotaged but, in the end he accepted the position. The movie was based on a true story.

If you fancy yourself an entrepreneur and are thinking of starting your own home based business, watch the movie! Once you have seen it, ask yourself what you would be willing to do to make your business a success. Consider whether you have the desire and the tenacity to do whatever needs to be done to achieve your goals.

Owning a business is not a fanciful hobby if you want to be successful. The Internet offers a way for the average person to start a home based business at a fraction of the cost of a regular business. The biggest mistake that online entrepreneurs make is to take their business for granted.

I have been one of those people who takes the business for granted. I was not alone and the trend continues today. I say trend because I see people every day making the same mistakes I made. Most business opportunity online can be started for less than $5000 start up and small monthly maintenance costs.

Because of the low costs people tend to think of online business as disposable. The perception is that you can start a business and make money with little effort. So often the expectation is instant riches. When that doesn't happen it is discarded for the next great business opportunity.

Everyone wants to believe that you can get rich quick but sooner or later reality sets in. Get off the roller coaster and stop jumping. Get serious about making money online and find the business that is right for you. Be prepared to work your business like the real business opportunity that it is.

Re: The secret to happiness - Happiness comes from within. We choose whether we want to be happy or not. Circumstances can influence our feelings, but in the end, it's up to us how we deal with our circumstances, positively or negatively. I admire anyone who can stay strong and be happy through adversity. There will always be challenges that we face, but I believe that if we face them with our heads held high, the odds of overcoming them are much greater. This reminds me of the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness." Happiness spelled wrong for a reason. One of Will Smith's greatest movies. I encourage you all to watch it as it's very inspiring.

PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
