So many people make the mistake of believing that you can sleep late and put your feet up and sipping coffee all day long. The most important word you need to pay attention to is "work". Building a business take time, commitment, and a very strong work ethic. You will likely have to put in long hours, at least initially, to get your business off the ground. When you have a home based business you are responsible for making sure the work gets done.

Residual income is generated when you have loyal customers and a product or service that is consumable. You want your customers to keep coming back month after month to replenish their supplies. There are start up costs! Why waste time with a product or service that you do not love. You should be thinking long term. Will you still love your products in 6 months or a year. Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff

Franchises in Texas... - I wonder if any Home Depots are going to open in Houston and environs to take care of rebuilding the city and suburbs? At the very least, it will probably be a boon for construction and home repair workers.... and scammers too, of course.
