Home Based Business Team Creates A New Paradigm

Written by: Paulette Sherb

Article Overview: Home based business team almost sounds like an oxymoron. Typically working from home means you are working for yourself and by yourself. The business circle is usually limited to a few people doing the work. New technologies make it possible for like minded entrepreneurs to change the paradigm of the home based business owner. Prior to the Internet, people purchased distributorships for the privilege of selling quality products for a commission. Many of the baby boomer generation will remember the visits of the Watkins and Fuller Brush man. Instead of working alone, entrepreneurs are finding like minded individuals who want to work as a member of a home based business team.

Home Based Business Team Creates A New Paradigm

Home based business team almost sounds like an oxymoron. Typically working from home means you are working for yourself and by yourself. The business circle is usually limited to a few people doing the work. New technologies make it possible for like minded entrepreneurs to change the paradigm of the home based business owner. Instead of working alone, entrepreneurs are finding like minded individuals who want to work as a member of a home based business team.

The Internet has grown into a global network that brings entrepreneurs together from every corner of the world. VoIP software can be downloaded for free anytime. Others using the same software can speak to each other, computer to computer, in real time, at no cost, anywhere in the world. Network marketing and affiliate programs have been around for many decades.

Prior to the Internet, people purchased distributorships for the privilege of selling quality products for a commission. Many of the baby boomer generation will remember the visits of the Watkins and Fuller Brush man.
Many companies that used to offer distributorships and sales territories have evolved into affiliate marketing companies on the Internet. Geographical boundaries no longer apply and the distributors today can literally market their wares to the world.

Marketing online started out with entrepreneurs sending e-mail. Lead generation companies thrived as entrepreneurs turned to these companies to purchase lists of names with e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Indiscriminate sending of information that was not requested and unwanted has led to regulation of e-mailing.

Effective marketing still involves e-mail to those who are requesting your information. The challenge every entrepreneur or home based business owner faces is competing with other business owners for the top spots on the search engines. There are many techniques and strategies categorized as Search Engine Optimization to increase your online visibility.

New technology spawns improved marketing tools and strategies as more entrepreneurs turn to Internet business. Traditional business is also looking to the Internet to help in cutting costs, improve profits and to increase their customer base. In order to be successful online marketers must become proficient with a variety of strategies to successfully compete for customers. The entrepreneur advantage is flexibility and being able to adapt quickly to changing marketing trends, technology and strategies.

Learning how to market effectively can be overwhelming for entrepreneurs new to the online business experience. Home based business team building is a natural evolution for marketers tired of working alone. Paradigms are shifting and cooperation is replacing competition. Changing a paradigm from competition to cooperation is not easy. Skepticism is the biggest roadblock to developing cooperative team efforts. It is not easy to change mind sets created by years of competitive marketing.

Groups of entrepreneurs are coming together and are working through the challenges of team building online. Serious marketers recognize that dedication and commitment are necessary to learn and implement the strategies for success. Pooling experience, talents, strategies and tools makes a lot of sense. Being able to work with your strengths and benefiting from the strengths of others is invaluable. Instead of learning by trial and error, they can learn from the mentoring of seasoned marketers. Cooperation beats competition any day when you work with a home based business team.

Marketing online with a home based business, like any other career, requires a commitment to learning and putting the knowledge into action. There are "secrets" to learn, and "actions" to take to keep moving to the next level in business and in life. The greatest secret that I learned is that working online in a home based business doesn't mean you are working alone. People, just like you, have been my greatest inspiration. It has not always been easy, but it has been fun! Raising a family, working full time offline, and part time online presents many challenges. Balance is the greatest challenge and the greatest reward. 858-926-5445 Skype ID: paulette3679

Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? - I've had quite a bit of success on oDesk.com. I've never used Elance so I can't compare. I like oDesk.com 'cos I get to sort thru people (e.g. within a certain bid range) with a single click. I find their help response very quick and I like the oDesk Team software that "providers" must install. This gives me the Buyer more insight as to what I am paying for. The Team software takes screenshots of the Providers screen on 10 min increments so I can see that the person is infact doing work for me.
