How To Build SEO skills For Top Search Engine Ranking

One of the most important things in internet marketing is SEO. SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization, meaning optimizing your WebPages and your internet content for the search engines and help these pages get top ranking.

If you are new to internet marketing you probably do not have SEO skills and probably like many other newbies you don't know where to start.

For many new internet marketers SEO sounds like a big scary monster, everywhere you look there are experts willing to sell you their service, and they make is sound even harder.

But the monster is not big and not scary; it's not even a monster. If you learn how what SEO means and how to use it you will notice there is nothing to it, and with a little more practice you can get that to search engine ranking you always dream about.

Building your SEO skills is easy. First you need to understand what SEO is and why you need to use it. SEO is a tool to help you get the best results with the search engines. At the beginning there was only a few websites. Today with the internet growing faster every day, there are so many websites, and not all relevant for everyone. This is why we have search engines; they help us find the most relevant websites for us at the moment.

To make it easy for the search engine robots to know what a website is all about, tag or keywords were created. These are a one word or one phrase that describes you pages the best, for example "Planning a wedding".

If you don't use keywords the robots will take longer to find your website, but if you douse keywords, and even use more targeted keywords, the chances the search engine robot will find your website faster.

After choosing the best and most targeted keywords for your web pages, there are more ways to help the robots index your site and you should use them all, but not over use them. Start with a title for your page; this helps not only the robots, but your visitors and future customers too.

After the title, use a description for your web page, a short summery about your website, a little preview for your reader and also, a little clue for the search engine robot. Use your chosen keywords in the description, will help for faster indexing.

If you are using html, insert your keywords in the links title tag and in the images alt tag, this will also help for getting fast results, and will provide a short description for your reader about the links and images on your site.

Make sure to repeat the keywords in your content, however do not overuse it, or is will look like spamming and will end up getting you banned from the search engines and not the best results you want to see.

After learning and understanding the basic SEO skills, you will be able to use it for your benefit, and get top search engine ranking.
