Why Is SEO Important For Your Internet Business?

If you are new to internet marketing very soon you will come across this term: SEO. If you are an internet marketer then you already know the term or seen it before. SEO is standing for Search Engine Optimization, meaning optimizing all your web pages and internet content, such as blog posts, articles, etc. If you never done SEO before, you most likely asked yourself does SEO important and why? The answer is very simple, yes. SEO is important and you should consider doing is as soon as possible.

Search engine optimization is the best way today to get top ranking in the search engines. The search engines are the ones that send traffic to your website. By using SEO and doing it properly your website will rank higher at the search engines, ending with getting more traffic and eventually generating more leads for you business and in the end generating sales for you business, helping you earn money from your online business.

The main reason to use search engine optimization is to generate more traffic. A good SEO will help the search engines index your web pages and website faster. People are always looking for information online and the search engines are the tools they use to filter the results and eliminate the unwanted websites from the list.

After all these years the search engines know what people are looking for and help good website by showing them on the front page and even on the number one spot.

SE optimization is important for keeping your high ranking too and keeping the traffic to your website. It is very good to get the high ranking but it is much better to stay in this position or climb higher.

SEO is also important to keep your website organized. When you know the subject of your website, who is you target audience, and which niche you are covering, you website will have structure. An organized website is a website with high quality content and it will have returning visitors.

Another very important reason to use SEO is to generate organic and targeted traffic. Traffic is very important to any website owner who wishes to gain popularity; however, not all traffic is good traffic. If you are selling sports equipment you don't want people who search for dog food to come by your website. This is where the search engine optimization comes in handy. When you tell the search engines what your website is about, they learn and never send unnecessary traffic to your website, and people searching for dog food will never see it in the search result for sports equipment.

The cost is the last but very important SEO factor. Search engine optimization cost nothing. If you learn how to use SEO properly, there is no reason to pay for SEO experts or companies to do the job for you. You will find a lot of free information on the internet and also many people that are willing to help and share their knowledge with you, you just have to look for it and use it.

SEO is important and it is very important you go ahead and learn the SEO basics and use them when building a website, writing a blog post, or articles for article marketing. After seeing the results a good SEO can get you, you will understand why SEO is important, and why so many are using it.

Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - Hi Yinka, I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent"). We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!

Re: Who inspired you to start? Re: Who inspired you to start? - Hi Evan, I was inspired by Mr. Bill Gates ever since I was a student learning Computers. But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. So I took over to the Internet as my primary business. Regards,

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
