Finding Legitimate Work-From-Home Jobs

If you are in the process of seeking a work from home job the first thing you need to be aware of is there are a number websites that in fact offer you the opportunity to work at home. Unfortunately, there are many that simply are not not legitimate! Beware of any sites that offer you a legitimate work at home job but asks you to pay a fee up front!

Steps to finding legitimate work at home jobs:

A) Develop yourself - find a way to create an online presence for yourself through Helium, blogging, social networking and other potential sources of referrals. This will be the beginning of your online reputation so don't put anything there that you wouldn't want on a job application!

B) Create a portfolio - highlight your skills by developing a portfolio of work. If you are a writer you can accomplish that by doing it here on Helium, on Associated Content, on Hub Pages and Squidoo or by highlighting your portfolio in a blog;

C) Network - Find other people who you know who already work at home. Sometimes the best way of finding legitimate work at home jobs is to ask around. Message boards, Communities, and even your local freecycle and other lists that are similar to that may allow you the opportunity to find legitimate work at home jobs.

D) Be Consistent - Don't bounce around from Affiliate Programs to pay for work websites (though you should always branch out and investigate your opportunities). What you don't want to do however is change your skills on each location! If you're a writer you should always be highlighting your writing skills, a graphic artist should be always highlighting graphics skills, etc. Being consistent with your goals can help you develop a stronger portfolio, a stronger profile and help your message get out.

E) Be proactive - Work from home jobs are not going to come and find you! Be persistent in your search for legitimate work at home jobs. You can find many ways to apply for jobs but remember, it takes time, persistence and patience.

Things to avoid:

If you're searching for legitimate work at home jobs do not get yourself tied up in knots checking out websites that offer you vague information until you pay a fee up front. Too often, these 'jobs' turn out to be sales sites for those who are getting paid to click and are often so overloaded with double speak you'll never find a job using the site!

Lack of guarantees are common when searching for work at home jobs. But, don't fall for those sites where you have to pay hundreds of dollars up front that don't offer you even guaranteed payment if you complete a job. None of us expects that any website is going to guarantee us a minimum amount that we'll be paid, but the least you can do is expect a guaranteed payment of any monies you do earn. Look for 'payment guarantees' when you've been compensated for a job.

Summary

There are may legitimate work at home jobs. The secret to your success is finding a legitimate work at home job by plowing through the thousands of opportunities that are availableDon't give up, there are opportunities for you to a make money working from home.

Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? - Thanks for sharing with us Yinko. Steve Jobs is definitely a visionary. Not only his products are innovative in a technological sense, but he's managed to turn a tech-company's products into a lifestyle.... a lifestyle!! [quote:zfqoq43n]Fast Forward to today. Apple has the sexiest products in the business: iMacs, Macbooks, iPhones, iPods and more.[/quote:zfqoq43n] I think not only tech would be different (music players and phones), but ways we can think of marketing and branding. What Steve Jobs did was of course no easy task for the smaller businesses, but he did start somewhere. What I did not know was that Apple is worth about as much as Google. How do you think Apple accomplish what they did? In terms of strategy wise? If you could advice Steve on one thing, what would it be?
