As an Affiliate Internet Business Owner Who Are You Branding?

If you have an internet based business and you are selling affiliate programs who are you branding? Just think about this for a moment, as the majority of online affiliate marketers are branding the products they are promoting and not themselves or their own legitimate internet business.

Something that is emphasized in many training courses is the importance of promoting yourself or your business first and then the affiliate products that you may be selling. If you look around on the internet, especially if you spend any time in traffic exchanges, the one thing that is clear is that people are using the standard squeeze pages that are offered by each affiliate company for use to promote their products. Nobody even knows who the person is who is promoting this product.

This is done even though the training manuals in all traffic exchanges emphasize the necessity of using a squeeze page that is unique, and you can brand yourself at the same time as you promote the product or service that you are offering.

Another point to take into consideration is that if you visit the website of any of these people who are selling various affiliate programs, you will find the programs all clearly displayed, but still no sign of who the owner of the website may be. For some reason many internet business owners feel that they can hide behind the programs they are promoting and this is a huge mistake.

Whether your business is an online business or a traditional business, if you are selling anything and expect people to buy from you, you need to be visible. It is not a good idea to put up a wall between you and your prospective customers. Making a purchase is an emotional thing and people are happier when they can make the purchase from someone that they feel they know and can trust.

Look at the people on the internet who have become hugely successful and you will realize that all of them are well known, not so much for their products or services but for themselves. If you take a moment to think about a few of them for example, Russell Brunson or Mike Filsaime, you will immediately know what they look like and what their businesses are all about. In fact they are probably better known than any of their products may be.

Don’t worry about the fact that you may just be a beginner. The point is that anyone can build a personal brand and the sooner you begin to do this the better off your business will be. Just keep in mind that your personal brand is merely a projection of the type of person you are and how people perceive you in regard to your business and the products or services that you give them.

To begin building your brand you need to take into account what you personally have to offer in terms of your strengths, reliability and expertise in your chosen niche. Also you must be totally trustworthy.

Building a strong personal brand is very important particularly for internet based affiliate marketers, as there are usually many people selling the same product and to get prospective customers to buy from you instead of one of the other affiliate marketers selling the same thing you need to promote yourself first so that people will feel they know you personally and so will be more inclined to buy from you than from any other affiliate marketer who is not known to them.

So if your wish is to stand out from the crowds just remember the importance of branding you first and your product second.

Job titles Job titles - [quote:3shpwvxj]In fact, I've had friends tell me that "Founder" is better than "Owner" since it's less possessive.[/quote:3shpwvxj] For myself, I don't care for the term "Founder" [i:3shpwvxj]because [/i:3shpwvxj]it's not possessive. You can be the founder of a company and have sold it - so it no longer belongs to you. However, if you call yourself "Owner" - people know the company is still in your hands. But I don't like Owner, either. I'd prefer President or Director, because one can be an absentee owner, whereas if one is a President or Director, people assume you're involved in the day to day activities. Manager, on the other hand, wouldn't work if its your business, because (to me, anyway) that implies that you "manage" for someone else - like at a restaurant.
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Hi GT Affiliate Marketing is one of the easier ways to get started making money online, but it does take quite a bit of work before you see any great results as you have to keep promoting constantly. It does teach you one hell of a lot about all aspects of Internet Marketing though as you will need to learn how to write and submit articles, create and maintain a blog, social networking is a great help to affiliates too..the list goes on and on. In fact from what you learn from Affiliate Marketing you can apply to any niche and be sure to succeed, take care, Carol
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - Carol, Mary and David - thanks for your great input and insight on Affiliate Marketing! This is the kind of discussion I was hoping for in this thread. There are pros and cons to Affiliate Marketing, just as there are to any business. As has been suggested, he best policy is to proceed with caution and do some research before jumping in. As Carol has recommended, this topic thread in the EvanCarmichael.com forum is the ideal place to ask questions and seek further input on available Affiliate Marketing programs. If a person is serious about building an online business and is interested in Affiliate Marketing plans, they should approach the process as they would any other form of business. Research, ask questions, compare opportunities, participate in forums on online business and Affiliate Marketing. GT :-]
