Have You Thought About Starting an Online Business to Earn an Extra Income?

If you have ever thought about giving up a job and becoming your own boss by running an online business from home or just would like to make some extra money by working on the internet, this is an avenue that many people are considering now.

You need to know that merely wanting this will not cause it to happen. Anyone who is contemplating an internet based business will need to do a lot of soul searching and have a clear idea of what it is that they want to achieve.

If starting an internet based business is something that you have thought of doing here are some things you need to ask yourself before getting involved;

1. What exactly do I want to achieve with this business?

2. What sort of income do I anticipate earning online every month?

You need to do more than just tell yourself that you would like to make more money, you need to be specific as to the amount you want to earn and the time frame in which you intend to get there.

Research to possibilities before setting this goal and be realistic in your expectations. An internet business like any traditional business takes time and hard work to build, it does not happen overnight. Even so you need to set a time by which you will be earning a reasonable amount of money and heading towards the goal amount you set for yourself.

3. Do I want this badly enough to invest the time, energy and money required to learn the skills I will need or alternatively would I be willing to pay other people to do some of the things that I am unable to do for myself?

Do some research about the type of skills that you would need to run a successful business on the internet and take into account the time and cost of learning these skills.

Website design or modification is one of the skills that you would need to aquire. If this is something that you feel you don't want to learn, would you be willing to pay someone else to do it on your behalf.

How good are you at writing advertising copy or articles? This is another very important skill and one that can be learned but it does take time and a lot of practice.

4. What are my main reasons for wanting an internet based business as opposed to other ways of making money?

If at this point you have any doubts about attempting an online business then the chances are that you are not that serious about wanting to succeed with your own internet based business.

Whatever your answer is to yourself just be sure that this is really what you have a burning desire to do. An internet based business requires a lot of hard work and dedication but is truly rewarding in the end, and so long as you are prepared to do whatever it takes it is a great way to make a living.

I don’t know about b2b marketing but I have done marketing so know things about it. I will suggest you to take online services which will spread your business all over web network. Online marketing is the best way to market any business.[/quote:428owzbi] B2B = Business to Business - You are marketing to other businesses. B2C = Business to Consumer - You are marketing to consumers.

Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.
Re: What are your success criteria? Re: What are your success criteria? - [quote="DwayneGarrett":1igrdgib]Out of curiousity, what has to be present for you to know that your business is a success? The top three things for me are: 1. Maintaining a 6 figure income year in and year out. 2. Creating and promoting my own products. 3. Income not solely dependent upon my personal effort. How about yours?[/quote:1igrdgib] I would have to say mine were: 1. Monthly Residual Income that exceeds all expenses by 110% 2. Free time to create and promote my own products (relies on #1) 3. 5% of all revenues generated by my team going to feed starving kids Now that is "feel good work".
