If this is what you think then there is more chance of being numbered amongst the 95% of internet marketers who never succeed with their internet income businesses.

In life nothing great has ever been achieved without encountering some obstacles and then learning how to overcome them. Accept that none of the successful businesses one sees today arrived at their present level of success without overcoming problems along the way.

The good news is that it is possible to become a successful internet marketing business owner and the best way to do this is by learning from others who have successfully created internet businesses before you. Study a few of these people and find out what problems they had to overcome and how they went about solving them.

One great advantage of doing business online is that a lot of the information that you will need is readily available on the internet and you can find it by reading blogs and in article directories or forums. There are also many books both on and offline that will help you to learn what you need to know for success.

Here are some main points for you to consider that will help you solve some of the problems you may encounter when building your internet marketing business:

1. Mind Set. This is very important and is something that you can develop even if you have no experience with marketing a business online. Even if you have no experience or knowledge, with the correct attitude and state of mind you will learn to be successful.

Begin by asking questions and being proactive; if you do this you will draw the right solutions to yourself. Don’t worry too much about copying what other people do, if their solutions works for you then follow them, but keep an open mind and where you see an opportunity develop something that is unique to you as well.

2. Learn everything you can about your business and become an expert in your niche. Make it a habit to study and keep up to date all the time, as things on the internet are constantly changing and you need to be on top of it.

It is not important what type of online business you have, by learning everything you can that is connected to your field or niche, by becoming an expert and having the ability to impart this knowledge to others you will be branding yourself and your business in such a way that people will want to buy your products of services and your business will grow rapidly.

3. Build relationships. Even if you are working from home all on your own on the internet, you are never truly alone. There are many thousands of people who are doing exactly the same thing that you are doing and at the same time as you. These are people that you should get to know and make friends with as many of them have the information that you are looking for. They can be a huge support and help to you as you build your business on the internet.

A good way to get to meet them is by reading their blogs and leaving comments, joining forums that are aimed at your niche or even email them if you feel that something could be beneficial to both of you. Don’t overlook the opportunity of face-to-face meetings either.

4. Following on from the previous point, you must build a team of people. As your relationships increase you will find a small group of people with whom you would like to work more closely. These could be people that you would like to either set up joint ventures with or that you would like to outsource some of your work to. There is much to be gained when you work together with others who are strong on skills that you might find difficult and you may be able to help them on the skills that you are good at.

These are just a few of the points that will benefit your business building and help you to market and create an internet marketing business that will continue to grow and bring you a great income well into the future.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Start with a web promotion plan and an effective web design and development strategy. 2. Get ranked at the top in major search engines, and practice good Search Optimization Techniques. 3. Learn to use Email Marketing Effectively. 4. Dominate your marketing niche with affiliate, reseller, and associate programs. 5. Request an analysis from an Internet marketing coach or Internet marketing consultant. 6. Build a responsive opt-in email list. 7. Publish articles or get listed in news stories. 8. Write and publish online press releases. 9. Facilitate and run contests and giveaways via your web site. 10. Blog and interact with your visitors.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
