Three Tips that can be Ignored by Home Based Internet Marketers

Three Tips that can be Ignored by Home Based Internet Marketers

There are times when everyone who is involved in a home based internet marketing business seems to have a tips on what to do to make your life and your business easier to run and also more successful. Truthfully though, some of these great sounding tips actually don’t serve you well as they make working from home feel exactly like it would if you were going to a job everyday.

Here are a three work from home tips that you can totally ignore.

1. Begin your day at the same time as you would in a 9-5 job!

Why would you want to do this? One of the greatest joys of working from home on the internet is that you can set your own hours. If you are not a morning person, and there are many people who are not, then chances are that you will have more energy and be more productive later in the day. So if this describes you, then don’t feel guilty about waking up later and working in the late afternoon and into the evening. Rather do your best work at a time that you are at your peak.

The great thing about the internet is that it works 24/7 so just set a schedule that suits you best, as long as it is one that you can follow then it is the right one for you. In fact if you work according to your body’s natural cycle you will achieve far more and be more successful.

2. Get Dressed the Same Way You Would if you were Going to Work.

Why? I know that some people believe that getting all dressed up puts you in to working mode, but some of the most successful and productive people work at home in their pajamas and achieve just as much if not more than the business people in their smart suits. If you can work efficiently in your pajamas then do it. If getting showered and dressed half way through your day suits you better then do that. Do what makes you feel good and operate at your most productive.

3. Have a Separate Room at home that is set up as your office.

If you are the kind of person who will benefit from this then by all means go ahead and do it, but there are many others who can work quite happily on their internet businesses while sitting in a comfortable chair with their laptop in front of the TV. So although this tip is not a bad one, it really is not a hard and fast rule to be applied. We are all different and what suits one person does not necessarily suit another.

There is a story about a very successful internet marketer who began his career with a few roommates all working from their laptops as freelance writers. They would sit in their lounge chairs around the TV with their computers on their laps and take turns playing each other at various video games. When they were not playing they would work.

It may sound unbelievable but they were actually very productive. The video games kept them sane and with enough energy drinks to keep them going they managed to relax and work consistently for at least ten hours a day. As the work was integrated throughout the daily schedule, it never really felt like work at all. In later years when they had moved on and married and they tried to create a work space at home, they found they it just didn’t work in the same way for them.

The amount of work from home internet based business tips available on the internet is limitless, but some of them are definitely worth ignoring.

But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. Re: 3 Signs That I Need To Get Serious About IM... - Hi David and GT, I can totally sympathise with your dilemma. For those Internet Marketers who work from home full time, you have my admiration, for those of us still trying to get there we are stuck between two stools. I have my regular job in training which keeps the wolf from the door but because I have to do a fair amount of travelling I sometimes arrive home late. I spend most of my days talking and organising classes and administration so I find that I am mentally not physically tired and it is sometimes difficult to focus. My plan is to redress the balance so that eventually I can reduce my regular work to part time in order to put in the extra time that IM demands. Until that time comes I will always be chasing the clock and always feel guilty if I haven’t spent enough time on the Internet when I get home. regards, Mal.
