To Own a Successful Internet Business Look for the Right Micro-Niche

Don't make the mistake that so many newbie internet marketers make by going into highly competitive markets. Rather look for a micro-niche market and your likelihood of succeeding will be that much greater.

By trying to compete in markets that are well established and huge such as the "internet marketing or self improvement" markets without narrowing them down in some way you are limiting your chance of success considerably as these markets are extremely competitive.

There is an exception to this rule for anyone who has a viable product or service of their own. By offering your unique product to clearly defined markets, even with very little experience in online business you will be far more likely to succeed.

If you have a unique product that is appealing to a specific and clearly defined market you have an immediate advantage and it then becomes much easier to achieve top rankings across all of the search engines just by writing about your product or service and publishing your articles on your website or blog and in article directories.

Even if your understanding and knowledge of keyword research and SEO techniques are limited, because your product will have value to the marketplace that you are targeting, the chances that you will succeed will occur naturally as anyone who can benefit from what you are selling is going to want to purchase it.

As you will be one of the very few people who will be promoting this product by writing about it, by merely publishing your articles on your website and blog you are bound to be a hit. If there is a market for your product the traffic will begin to trickle in to your website and so long as the product is reasonably priced people will start to buy it.

The main reason that this will happen is that anyone looking for your product via a search engine will enter a specific targeted keyword or search phrase that would be aimed at exactly what they want rather than a broader based keyword.

When you apply more specific SEO techniques to your web pages and work actively to attract your market then you will see even more noticeable improvements in your traffic and conversion of sales.

So how can you find and cultivate your targeted market?

The best way to find your market is by going to the places on the internet where people interested in that market are likely to hang out. Think about the type of forums that these potential customers will visit and join these forums. Always respond promptly to any inquiries that you receive or questions in forum conversations that concern your product or service.

By actively taking part in these forums and answering question pertinent to your product you will become known as an expert and people will want to buy your product.

Don't advertise your product actively in the forums as you will not be welcomed there if you do this. When you join a forum you can generally add a link to your website into your signature and this is how people will find you. Set up an opt-in form on your website and your blog where visitors can sign up to receive a newsletter from you, this will build a list of subscribers to your autoresponder. You can keep these subscribers up to date on any products that you want to promote and also keep them informed on news pertaining to your micro-niche market.

The biggest advantage of using these strategies is that the cost to you is minimal and you can prosper in an online business in a micro-niche market.

Re: Who inspired you to start? Re: Who inspired you to start? - Hi Evan, I was inspired by Mr. Bill Gates ever since I was a student learning Computers. But I was motivated for Internet as my Business, when I read his book "The Road Ahead" in 1995. It was in this book that Gates laid out his vision of an interconnected world built around the Internet. Based on the premise that life will be transformed by the convergence of inexpensive computing and inexpensive communications, Gates drew from his experience at the center of the personal computer revolution to give insights on the growth, evolution and impact of technology. I had always looked up to Bill Gates as my idol. When I read this book, it made me more focussed on Microsoft and Internet, The Internet was one of the upcoming things in this time. So I took over to the Internet as my primary business. Regards,
