Blogging is not only fun but an important part of every legitimate online business. For people who are new to blogging, there are some simple things that could be blocking your success. Fortunately many of these difficulties are easy to overcome provided you are able to identify them quickly.

An importantl first step is to identify the problem so that blogging over the long term becomes effective. It is normal in any business that you will run into problems from time to time, but if you don’t know what the problem is then how will you ever be able to fix it.

Here are three of the most common blocks to blogging successfully and some easy steps to help you overcome them.

1. A problem that many first time bloggers seem to have when getting started is a multitude of different ideas. Having these ideas is not a bad thing in itself, but it is important that you learn to control them or they can become a problem. The problems arise when these ideas have you jumping from one idea to the next without ever completing any task or project that you have started. It is impossible to be successful in any online business venture if you are unable to focus on one idea until it is completed before jumping to another one.

A simple way to overcome this happening to you is to set up a project list that you can keep adding new ideas to, and maybe spend a few minutes setting out the basic points of your idea and then put it aside until you have completed the current projects you are working on.

2. Another common problem that many bloggers face is the inability to go all out when it come to creating and promoting their blogs. This is not because they have no great desire to succeed but because they are possibly afraid of not succeeding. When you go all out and do your utmost to succeed and put everything you have into it and still somehow you fail, then what excuse can you use for the lack of success?

Alternatively if you put a minimum of effort into your endeavors then you have a built in excuse for the reason for failing. Unfortunately many people would rather have an excuse for failing than give themselves an opportunity to succeed.

3. Finally there is a barrier that holds many people back and that is the inability to actually ask for the sale. It is a strange paradox when you consider that the reason the majority of legitimate online business owners start blogs in the first place is so that they can increase sales and yet they still hesitate to ask for the money.

The long and short of the matter is that if you don’t ask for the sale then it is very unlikely that you will get it.

The good news though is that there is an easy way around this common problem and that is when you first start blogging learn to only promote products that you have absolute faith in. Promote the kind of products that you would recommend to your family and friends and if you do this you will know that you are doing what is right for your readers as well.

By only recommending quality products ( the things that you use yourself) it will become easy to promote them to prospective customers and you will build a relationship with your readers that is based on trust and belief in you as an expert and blogging will form a natural part of your online business practice.

There are many ways that a blog can be unsuccessful in generating an income without you becoming part of the problem and getting in your own way. So learn early on how to identify the problems that you may be inadvertently creating yourself, and you will find it easier to get past them and have a successful online business blog that will make money for you in the long term.

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
Use of Blogging For Promotion - Blogging might not be the easiest promotion and advertising method however it certainly is one of the cheapest methods. All you need is a hosting package and a domain. Actually you could do it through Blogger and it would be free of charge.
