How Do I Develop Attainable Goals?

Free Download - A Mentor Is Important, But A Coach Is Invaluable By Jasper Silvis |
Many leaders and wealth coaches in the internet marketing business world give very sound advice to help their followers develop attainable goals. Unfortunately, their advice tends to be bound in large series of books and courses. If you are at the beginning stages of your business or have suffered several months of stagnation, goal planning now is invaluable to your success as an entrepreneur.
Follow this simple structure and not only will you be able to develop attainable goals rather effortlessly, you will also have the structure in place to mentor and coach others. If you do not know by now, you can only become truly wealthy when you help others become wealthy.
The first step is to lay out 3 separate sheets of paper. Do not use a computer for this, as physical writing engraves your goals in your noggin so much better than typing. On the top of each sheet of paper, write "6 Month Goal", "12 Month Goal", and "5 Year Goal", respectively. Stack them in reverse order and begin brainstorming your 5 year goal first. Where do you see yourself if time and money were no longer obstacles? Whose life are you impacting in a positive way? You need to have a clear vision of your success and have it materialize on that sheet. Be detailed.
Next, go to your second sheet and write down the single most important goal that you absolutely must achieve in the next 12 months if you are to realize your 5 year goal. Do you need to be at a level where you are hosting conferences? Do you need to have your name well known in your industry through awards and accolades? Again, be specific and detailed. I know there are many things that need to be accomplished for you to meet your 5 year goal, but there is always that single most important goal within your first year that needs to be completed. What is that for you?
Last, write on your third sheet your 6 month goal that is necessary to accomplish your 12 month goal. This is the only goal right now that you should have an absolutely clear vision of its completion. Maybe it is the automation of all your major marketing efforts or the transition from free social marketing to paid advertising.
Once you have these goals completely recorded in detail, take a plain sheet of paper and write a single sentence summarizing each goal. Fold and store that sheet in your wallet or day planner. Place your three descriptive goal sheets in a secure place. Every morning when you wake and every evening before you sleep, take out your sheet and recite each goal as if you already accomplished them.
When you achieve your 6 month goal, your 12 month goal now becomes your 6 month goal and you must now reevaluate the current state of your business to determine a different 12 month goal. Keep doing this since consistently achieving your goals gives you the drive and motivation needed to overcome any obstacle on your way to your major goal. Once that 5 year goal is within a year away and you can see it being accomplished in your mind, create a new 5 year goal and repeat the process.
Time will change; your business will change; your goals will change; you will change. Constantly and consistently develop attainable goals and you will succeed much faster than you think.
