Most people who start home based businesses fail to realize that you can not become successful online with an employee mindset. They fail to realize that there logical thinking and what they know has got them to where they are in life right now and will not accept that they are not as knowledgeable at they thought and they must change the way they are dealing with money, relationships, diet, health and much more. Obviously where they are in life is not where they want to be or they wouldn't be looking into starting their own business from home. So first you must take responsibility for where you are and truly understand and accept that possibly everything you though was right, maybe wrong.

What must happen next to be successful is you must change as a person. Change is hard for a lot of people. That is why 97% of people are spending more money than they make and quiting within their first 90 day. They can't change and accept that what they believe they should do to be successful is wrong. If you are still the same person when you started your business, or if you are hoping for a million dollars in 6 months and at the same time taking little or no action, then you might as well forget about your own home based business and go back to your 9 to 5 job.

In order to change as a person you must work on yourself everyday and do this for the rest of your life. That is unless you want to go back to the average or below average person you were before you stared working on yourself. People watch videos, listen to recordings, attend seminar and more that tell them exactly what to do to be successful but do they do it. No! They don't read everyday, they don't cut off negative people, they don't exercise everyday, they don't take actions everyday to bring them closer to their goals, they don't take immediate action when they learn something new or a great idea pops into their head and the list goes on. So when this person produces no results because the haven't done what they've been told or they are just not doing enough, they get down on themselves, discouraged and frustrated because they can't figure out why things aren't going as planned. It's not the system, your product or your sponsor that make you successful. It's you! therefore personal development is very important and should be your number one priority.

With the right mindset you will never doubt, you will never get frustrated, blame others or anything like that because you have developed the mindset of a true entrepreneur and if those feelings or thoughts do occur, it is only briefly before you put those thoughts or emotions back in check. Also other people are attracted to that strength and control you have over your thoughts and emotion.

Now everyone will not be able to do what is necessary to be successful in their home based business. They won't take action, they won't do some type of personal development activity everyday and therefore they won't be able to control their thoughts, emotions and results. Instead they will continue to let doubt creep into there mind, get easily frustrated, nervous on the phone when speaking to prospects and more.

So you must understand the true secret to success is your mindset because it controls what you think, which controls what you do and what you do controls the results you get in your business. If you truly, truly believe in yourself and abilities, average people as well as leaders will follow you. An whether you are producing the result you want at that time or not won't matter because if you have become that person that you must be, to be successful. People that understand this know that tangible results are soon to follow. So to be successful in any business all you have to do is never doubt, know where you are going, how to get there, take action everyday to reach your goal, become the person that you must become through personal development and teach others to do the same. Maybe some of you are all ready doing these things and for some I have awakend that sleeping giant inside you. Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.
