You are definitely going to have some obstacles to overcome on your journey to success and the only way to overcome them is through daily personal development. This is why most people fail, because they fail to do this or they just don't have the self discipline to keep it up. But few people realize that the more you do some type of daily personal development, the easier self discipline gets, which in turn will guarantee your success. This is the first key you must have in your Internet marketing strategy.

The next key thing you should have in your Internet marketing strategy is time management. An I shouldn't call it time management, I should call it life management because if you are not trying to make your life and other people's lives better everyday, you are not wasting time, you are wasting your life. So your job is to prioritize things. Now some things you can't change, like how many hours you have in a day and some things you can, like what you income will be this year. So your job is to prioritize only things you can control from most important to least. And do this everyday. This is the second key you must have in your Internet marketing strategy.

Last you need to contently surround yourself with like minded people who are where you want to be. Rather you want to believe it or not, your behavior, thought process, income, etc., is influenced and usually the exact same as the people you spend time with most. In my case when I first started my online career, I had no one to spend time with or talk to who was where I wanted to be. So I plugged in to training, courses, webinars, tele-seminar, read book, etc. everyday and limited my time with people and things that were not taking me toward my goals. An plugging in to all these resources is like being surrounded by these people everyday. Even though these people are not physically with you at your home or wherever you are. After a while I developed the habits and skills of the people I was surrounding myself with and that is when I started producing results and because successful. An this is a Internet marketing strategy you definitely can not skip if you want to be successful online.

Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

The one thing I might add for clarification to readers is on point number 4 concerning "dominating" search results. I always like to clarify the importance of dominating for a variety of well researched keyword phrases that ideally target your ideal buying audience. Sometimes people misunderstand and think the objective is too dominate all top 10 spots for the same keyword. The reason this is not wise is that anyone successfully dominating all top 10 spots may actually be reported to Google Abuse because the purpose of a search engine is to display a variety of choices. Competitors can become quite upset with a company who is dominating all top 10 spots for the same phrase. I realize you know this already, but just thought I'd throw it in for anyone new to SEO. Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
