Three Main Obstacles Home Based Businesses Face

When you own a home based business you are constantly faced with obstacles, whether it be after having some success or the initial obstacles you face when you are first starting out. You WILL face obstacles there is no doubt about it. I have found that there are three main obstacles that people face in home based businesses that must be overcome so they can move on to live the life they dream.
1. Laziness.
Being busy is often the most common form of laziness. People stay busy to avoid facing the things they really should be doing. If it is not long hours at work it is watching TV, shopping, fishing etc you catch my drift. Deep down busy people know that they are really avoiding the important things, usually something they are not overly fussed on doing, so they keep themselves busy in the things they enjoy ultimately to avoid the inevitable. Overcome this by exercising some self-discipline in your life to ensure the important things get done.
2. Fear.
Fear of failure, or fear of losing money is one of the greatest obstacles that entrepreneurs face in their business as no one likes to lose anything. You are scared that if you fail people will say "I told you so" or "I knew you would never make money" and you do not want to look stupid. How you handle failure makes the difference. It is alright to have fear but instead of letting it control you use it to inspire you to succeed. Starting a business is a risk, it takes you out of your comfort zone which is a fearful experience. But if you take calculated risks then you will be taking risks, but it will be within your limitations so you have the control therefore eliminating your fear.
3. Bad Habits.
Peoples lives are a reflection of their habits. We all have bad habits but its whether we are willing or not to re-program them. Bad habits are usually birthed from upbringing, choices we make or the people we aspire to be around. These all play a part in the way your habits are formed. Overcoming your bad habits takes consistency, time and patience. Keep working on transforming your bad habits into good ones. It is a time process but is a necessity to become a better person, but also a great leader.

Hi, I am a 30 year old entrepreneur with a small family. I have recently started my own direct online marketing business. Being sick of working 9-5 and sitting in traffic every day I decided to make a change so that I could spend more time at home with my family doing the things we like. Now I work part time teaching others how to create the same success that I have.

LinkedIn Useless LinkedIn Useless - I've been on LinkedIn for about a year and have found it useless. I've upload a few contacts and have some friends conneted to me but no business has come from it and most of the requests I made got stopped somewhere along the way. Face to face networking is the best way!
Re: What's the rule on using emoticons? Re: What's the rule on using emoticons? - I use the Smiley Face a lot when communicating with subscribers and affiliates. So far, I don't think I've gotten into any "trouble" for it. I do, however, agree on avoiding other types as we never know how one could interpret it.
Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
