Free Advertising to Generate Traffic; 8 Tips For Success

Marketing is the key to the success of any business.  Without good, effective marketing it won't matter how good your product is - it won't get sold!  Placing free classified ads is a great way to start out in network marketing if you are on a tight budget and are new to marketing, but be prepared to put in the time and effort if you want to see results.  I was putting in 10 ads a day before I started getting results. This can be an instant way of generating some traffic whilst you are building up the longer term campaigns through social networking strategies that ultimately should generate larger volumes of traffic, also free.

Before you can start to market any product you need to believe in it!  Spend time thinking and making notes as to WHY your product is valuable.  What problem does it solve?  What needs does it meet?  Then word your ad to be brief, to the point and honest!  Here are some important guidelines to follow if you want to maximise the potential of your free classified ads marketing campaign;

•1         Find good sites

Different sites require different contact info; phone number, address, others just email - choose what suits you.  Also the rules about how many, or how often, ads are posted vary.  Read the terms and conditions carefully so that you do not have your account blocked or worse still; receive a fine.  Also be careful - some sites charge for business ads.

•2         Use the repost /review facility

Not all sites include the opportunity to repost ads, thus taking them back to the top of the list without resubmitting the whole ad, but if it's offered it is worthwhile, as it's so much quicker.  This is done via email or when you log in to your account.

•3         Be consistent

As in any marketing strategies, to get good results you need to be consistent in your efforts.  If you start getting results then don't slow down your efforts - increase them for increased results!

•4         Include a picture

This will make your ad more attractive - as long as the picture is related to your ad!  If you are making multiple postings with the some site (remember, check the rules first) you may want to vary the photo for more chances of getting clicks on your ad. To upload the pic successfully you may need to compress the size first.

•5         Alternate titles and vary content

As above, to get more prospects viewing your ads, vary the titles and word content.  You can use the same well worded, effective ad every day (seeing the same ad regularly may eventually draw the prospect in) just check you are not duplicating the same ad lots of times in the same listing.  Give careful thought to the title, this and your photo is all the reader has to draw them in.

•6         Choose different locations

Keep a list of when and where you post ads so that you can vary the locations - spread them around the country.  Some sites will only let you use your own postcode to advertise from which is restricting - this is when it's useful to alternate ads and photos.

•7         Post ads throughout the day, especially evenings

Be strategic as to when you post ads - evenings are good.  They can quickly get buried under other ads, especially on the larger, more popular sites.  It's worth searching the site first for similar ads to yours to get a feel for numbers and types that are submitted - then make yours stand out!

•8         Save time by cutting and pasting your ad

Always check spellings and layout too.  Cutting and pasting from a word doc. cuts down on the number of errors that will occur - assuming you got it right the first time!   Take the time to preview/edit your ad before it's published.

A final word of warning - beware Spammers and weirdos who send emails to advertisers.   Many sites have their own warnings.  The popular international sites tend to be the worst for this.
