Let me start by saying that Article Marketing is a POWERHOUSE marketing tactic that will get you traffic back links to your personal blog or lead capture page. Focusing on your niche with the proper keywords and backlinks will help your website or blog get more exposure and get indexed higher in the search engines.
It is a simple, very low-cost effective way to bring good, high quality and organic visitors to your website. You don’t have to be an expert writer to have an effective article campaign. With an consistency and effective writing, you can establish yourself as a leader and and authority in the industry. Over time you build trust with your following audience.
Once you write an article, there are many places where you can distribute your content online. You can spend time on the internet looking for high ranking article sharing website or you can have your article outsourced through article distribution sites. Outsourcing your articles is very inexpensive and adds massive leverage, I highly recommend it if you are willing to spend $20-$100 dollars a month.
The 4 Step Article Marketing Formula
Step1 - Define Your Target Prospect: You need to be specific and focused about what you are writing. The more define and specific you are, the better you will be at attracting the target audience to your website. The more closely you can define your target audience or market, the more people will relate and follow your articles. Do not write and article aimed at pleasing everyone, you can fail on attracting anyone this way.
Here is a few list of questions that can help you define your target audience:
- What obstacles are they facing?
- What is their definition of success?
- What do the want out of life?
- What are their personal and professional goals.
- What do they do for a living?
- What advertising tactic are they looking to learn?
Step 2 - Choose Your Keyword Phrase: Articles get indexed on search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN, so it is very important that you optimize each article with keyword phrases, also known as long-tailed keywords. Make the topic of your article using the keyword phrase relevant to your target audience. Very important not to over do it with keywords though.
Step 3 - Select Your Article Topic: Select a topic related to the keyword phrase. You can do this by writing down 6 concerns you had before you joined or started promoting your current product or business. Then follow them by the solutions that your current product or business offers. You now have 6 article topics to write about.
5 Types of Articles:
- A Training or How To Article (Like This One)
- A Problem & Solution Article
- A Review Article
- A Story or Personal Experience Article
- A Compare & Contrast Article
People reading your article will have the same concerns you had, and by addressing their concerns, they will feel that the article was written specifically for them.
Step 4 - Write Your Article: Article writing is easier than you think, and you should not worry about making it perfect. Make sure the article is informative, short, and entertaining. It might seem overwhelming in the beginning, but over time you will get better at it. Just sit down and start writing, and before you know it you will be writing articles in 30 minutes.
Here are some tips that can help:
- Create a short list of 3-5 key point you want to cover in your article.
- Explain each key point with 3-5 sentences.
- The key points will be the first sentence of each paragraph.
- The body will be the remaining 2-4 supporting sentences of your paragraph.
Very important not to pitch your product or opportunity through your article. It’s purpose is not to “close a sale”, it is just an informative tool that should compel your audience. If they like what the read they will click on your link on the resource box or bio on the bottom or your article. Believe me the process will take care of it self.
