Work At Home Opportunities – How Do I Find One That Will Work For Me?

Written by: Brenda Fairchild

Article Overview: I’ve been there; I know how aggravating it is to see thousands of people on infomercials claiming to have gained riches and a new leisurely lifestyle while I struggle endlessly. I tried several work at home opportunities before I found the right one. In the process, I came up with a simple three step process to evaluating and finding the right business to partner with. When I followed this process, it led me straight to an opportunity that would allow me to leave the frustration behind and live the life of my dreams.

Work At Home Opportunities – How Do I Find One That Will Work For Me?

I call it my DDR method: Decide, Determine, Resolve. Here's how it works: Step 1: Decide What You Want

This may seem painfully obvious, but most people start looking at work at home opportunities with only a vague idea of what they want, like financial freedom, to quit their day job, to be self-employed, etc. Don't they all claim to give you these things? And many of them can, if they meet your real criteria and will be a good fit for you personally.

What do I mean? Let's start with financial freedom; really, how much money do you want to make? The next question in this category is how fast do you want to reach your monthly income goal? Of course, everyone wants to get there in 30 days, but the more you want, the bigger challenge that's going to be. Residual income is always the selling point of recruiters, but that takes time to build, so know that going in.

How much training and support do you need? Are you willing to educate yourself? Look carefully when evaluating work at home opportunities to see what they offer in the way of training, tech support, and mentoring.

Finally, what business do you really want to be in? Do you want to be in the business of chasing money, chasing leads, and chasing sales? Or do you want to be in the business of helping people, offering products and services people not only want, but come looking for every day?

Helping people set goals, showing people how to reach their goals, thinking big, having a stake in every client's success is not only infinitely more rewarding, but in the long run vastly more profitable.

Okay, so now that you've walked through the most difficult step of deciding what you want, you'll have a better idea of what to look for.

Step 2: Determine the Cost of Getting It

This is the step that usually involves the rudest awakenings, the biggest surprises, and the most defeats in work at home opportunities. It is very important to have a clear understanding of what you're really getting yourself into when you start a new business.

How much money is it going to take to launch, market and build your new business? Find out the time commitment as specifically as you can. Don't accept 'in your spare time' as an explanation. How much time? How many hours each week, each day?

Step 3: Resolve to Pay the Price

Here is where the rubber meets the road folks. There is one thing that all legitimate work at home opportunities have in common: the only way you will be successful at it is to put your heart and soul into launching and building your new business. You will get overwhelmed, you will experience setbacks, and you will get discouraged; sometimes sooner, other times later. The difference between success and failure most often is simply perseverance and consistency. That's it. There is no magic pill for success with work at home opportunities.

The best way to hedge your bets in this area, though, is to find an opportunity that offers continual, ongoing, 24/7 encouragement, support, and coaching. These companies are the ones that really do want you to succeed, and they understand what it takes. If they are willing to invest in your success by providing these services, you can be sure they are legitimate offers and you have a much better chance of realizing your dreams.

The rest is up to you with this step. You have put in the time, you have to spend the money, whatever your budget may be, and you have to keep going and believing you can. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to RESOLVE TO PAY THE PRICE.

So there it is, friends. My personal three step plan for success in life. All you ever have to do is Decide What You Want, Determine the Cost of Getting It, and Resolve to Pay the Price. In the end, the best plan for success in any business: help others get what they want, and what you want comes to you tenfold. It's what I believe, and if you want to work with an entire enterprise of successful people who share that belief, then joining my team might be the work at home opportunity you're looking for.Realizing your goals could be just a click away!
