Article Marketing is a simple and cost effective way to promote a business and drive high quality traffic to your website. Learning how to write an article correctly builds trust with your prospects and helps to establish you as an authority in your area of expertise. Writing an effective article is a simple process which anyone can do. If you follow the simple steps included in this article you will be a pro in no time.

Step #1 Find Your Target Audience

Defining your target audience is very important when writing an effective article. Picture yourself as your prospect and visualize what they are looking for. Just get into their minds and think about what they want. Once you know what you prospect wants you'll then have a captive audience.

Step #2 Choose Your Keyword

The main purpose for writing an effective article is to get your prospect to read your article. The best way to do this is to optimize each article you write with a specific keyword. There are two types of keywords. Long Tailed and Short-Tailed keywords.

Choosing a long-tailed keyword over a short-tailed keyword will give you the best chance of getting your article viewed by your prospect. Long-tail keywords are more specific than short-tailed keywords and there is far less competition fighting for your prospect.

Step #3 Select Your Topic

Once you have selected the long-tail keyword that you are going to use, it's time to select the topic you are going to write about.

For example, if your long-tail keyword is "Write an Article Correctly," than your topic could be "Learn How to Write an Article Correctly."

Step #4 Write Article

Writing an article is very simple. The process should only take around 30 minutes to complete. Don't worry about writing the perfect article. Just sit down and start writing. That's the most important part.

Here's some simple steps to writing an article quickly:

1. Choose 3 main points to your article and make those into one sentence each.

2. Write 3-5 sentences for each of your 3 main points.

3. The 3 main points will be the first sentence of the three main paragraphs.

4. The 3-5 sentences will be the body of each paragraph.

Now that your 3 main paragraphs are complete all you need is an introduction.

*Just write 3-4 sentences that sum the three paragraphs and this will be the introduction.

Now all you need is a conclusion.

*Write 2-3 sentences that sum up the three main points you've written and this will be the conclusion.

Step #5 Write Article Title

When writing the title of the article it's important to do a few things.

1. If possible include your entire keyword in the title.

2. Put your keyword as close to the beginning of the article title as possible.

3. Questions make compelling article titles. People have the need to have their questions answered. If possible make your title a question.

Step #6 Distribute Article

It's very important to distribute your article to as many article sites as possible so your article will rank higher in the search engines. There are some programs on the Internet that will submit your article to hundreds of article marketing sites automatically for you. This will save you a tremendous amount of time and it's very well worth the investment.

Learning how to write an article correctly is a tremendous way to advertise your business without breaking the bank. If your article is written the right way, it can rank very high in the search engines. The best part about it is that it's free advertising. The search engines will show your article for free if you've written a quality article. That's why it's so important to write your article effectively today because you will reap the benefits for years to come.

Re: Do Articles For Businesswomen need to be written differently - I don't think that as a general rule an article [i:11csddi3]needs[/i:11csddi3] to be written "for women." In my opinion, the two important writing rules are: 1) Write for your targeted audience. If it happens to be predominantly women or predominantly men, then write accordingly (if you have the ability to make that distinction in your writing). 2) Write in your own voice. Be natural. If you are a serious writer, your style will become apparent over time and you will develop a following. It may happen that your style is more attractive to one sex or the other. If so, you may be able to advance your writing career by further cultivating your sensitivity within that style. Bottom line: I do believe that certain styles appeal to women, certain styles appeal to men and if you know the distinction, have the ability to write in a particular style and choose to target one sex or the other, then go for it. But I don't think that it is a necessity in today's market. GT :-]
