MLM marketers, in today’s market, have a significant problem
that is probably outside of their scope of interest. Most have not read their
marketing agreement, understand what they have agreed to and what they can and can’t
do. This is an unfortunate lack of knowledge.
In most cases, if you are marketing for an MLM, THEY own
your leads. The MLM company determines who gets what people and how they are
placed into the organization. In most cases, you get the income for the leads
that you generate. That means that you could be doing quite well for today,
maybe even next year. However, sad to
say, you are still an “employee”. Now
don’t freak out with the term “employee”. All this means is that you don’t have
a business, you are working someone else’s business.
Because the MLM owns the leads, they also control how and
what you do with the leads and, in some unfortunate cases, they actually take
total control over them. When this happens, your “business” dies. DEAD. Gone.
And you have no recourse over them.
So is the MLM world all scams and no-win situations for the
average marketer?
Actually, it is quite the opposite.
First, you have to understand the risks and rewards of the
MLM industry. If your MLM owns the leads, you can’t win.
You have to find a business where YOU own the leads that you
generate. How do you accomplish this?
You have to do your due diligence on the business, read the find print on the
membership agreement, and talk to your upline sponsor. If you find out the MLM company
owns your leads, I personally would say “Thank You” and walk away. If the
agreement allows you to set up your own lead accumulation system, you now have
a business.
Second, you have to have a system that allows you to generate
leads without pitching the business.
Pitching the business is a lousy way to build a business and leads to
more failure in the MLM industry than everything else combined.
So, how do you generate leads with out pitching the biz?
Well, the system is called “attraction marketing”. With this system, you
actually will have people come to you. This makes your system much easier to
handle and makes you much more profitable.
