Google Slap, To understand why this is happening

The first thing you need to understand is Google has more money than god. They do not care about you, the advertiser.

They only care about the experience of there users (searches). If a user searches for a book on magic tricks and gets a website selling tricks for making good lemonade they are not going to be happy.

Some people think this only pertains to “search network” and not “content network” nut they are WRONG. The number one thing you have to remember is that your website must be RELEVANT to what you are targeting.

If you think for any reason your site will disappoint a person who searches the keyword you are bidding on you WILL get slapped. At minimum you will end up paying WAY more than you should. If you have been slapped…… The first thing you should do is pause your old account and start a new one. Ideally it will be with a new name and new credit card to “start fresh” but even if you have to use the same card and name it is better than nothing. Now understand that slaps usually come from the campaign level so for every campaign you have makes sure you have a different domain.

If you want to get REALLY specific you can use a new domain for every ad group. Now, the key is targeting a keyword that is relevant to your site. BUILD SLOWLY. If you have just been slapped there is no point in attracting unnecessary attention by having 10,000,000 impressions on your third day. No bidding on keywords that have nothing to do with your site. To make sure your quality score stays up, ideally, you will have the keyword from your ad group in your Title and Description for the ad group. If you want to get even better you can have the keyword in the domain. Make sure you use broad match and phrase match in your ad groups. Your goal should be to analyze your ad groups and take out keywords that are not getting clicks. *Ad groups with high CTR RARELY get slapped. As far as your website is concerned….. Build it on Wordpress. Google loves Wordpress. Ideally you would have a version of your site that is relevant to each keyword but if that is too intense then at least each ad group. This mean multiple versions of the same page.

That may not happen but that is the BEST approach. Your goal should be to get a high quality score for each ad group and a high page rank for your site. Below are some tips on how to do this: Meta Tags- Add the best performing keywords to your meta tags Have multiple pages (the more the better) these include privacy policy, contact us, about me, terms and conditions, newsletter page and a resource page with lots of keyword rich/related articles.

Make sure these are all displayed and linked in a Navigation menu. Page content- Make sure your page is rich with the keyword you are targeting. Use Google’s “Site Related Keyword Tool” to see if Google thinks your site is relevant to the keyword you chose. Make sure the headline on your page has the targeted keyword in it. Make sure your website description has the keyword in it. Make sure your H1 tags are specific to your keywords eg. buy red shoes Back links- More for page rank but still part of the algorithm.- Put your site URL on social networks for high ranking one way back links. This is the only PROVEN way to get high page rank. (In addition to the other stuff here). Article writing is also effective if it is relevant to your page and a great form of free traffic. evancarmichael.com is a great place to submit. Make sure you ping your changes as Google likes to know your sites is constantly active and growing. Use pingmyblog.com or pingomatic.com I have never been slapped because I understand what Google wants for there user experience. You can get tricky if you want but if you always go back to these fundamental principles you will not only make more money but keep yourself safe.

Re: Using youtube disadvantages? Re: Using youtube disadvantages? - [quote="wondering":1vmcbmw6]Youtube embedded players play instantly. Good. However, if you use a youtube embedded player on your business website and click it twice, it takes you away from your site and on to youtube's where a prospective buyer can wander endlessly and perhaps never return. Good or bad? Does anyone know how to alter the html so that it plays only and doesn't link to youtube?[/quote:1vmcbmw6] In that case you would need to host the video yourself on your website business server. That is pure Google at work. Google allows others to use the videos, knowing that eventually it leads the consumer back to a Google property. To understand Google one only needs to look back in history to the country of England and the saying "the sun never sets on the British empire".

Re: How to do Link Building? Re: How to do Link Building? - Link Building... Time-intensive. Frustrating. Sometimes confusing. Yet Unavoidable. Because ultimately, it's still the trump card for higher rankings. What happens to all those Wavers that think [i:1otfkny0]Getting Links = SEO[/i:1otfkny0] when that majority of the Google algo is devalued in various ways? Wavers built their fortunes on "links=seo". When that goes away, the Wavers have zero to hold on to. What will happen to the way search algorithms score links is already happening. The Google algo has become much more elegant and advanced, devaluing staggering amount of links that shouldn't count, and placing more emphasis on trusted links. And the trust and juice given by those links is then verified by elements like user data, domain age, and other relatively hard-to-spoof factors. toddbeld
