How Elvis Presley and the Power of Focus can help you in your internet marketing business

Article Overview: It is interesting how meeting someone who has a laser focus on their passion can teach us alot about staying true to your goals. In this case a 66 year old Elvis Presley fan got me thinking about the fact that you can achieve amazing things with the right mindset.

Are you struggling with the setup of your online business?

Are the constant distractions of being pitched to by every person with an opportunity or product slowing your progress?

Are you finding your "to do" list is getting bigger?

Are you getting to the end of your assigned working time feeling frustrated?

Does your original reason for starting your business sometimes fade into the background?

I would like to relate a story that puts things into perspective.

I met a woman the other day who lives in a tiny half state-house in a less than salubrious part of Auckland. I was fortunate to be invited into this lady's home and was instantly struck by something quite remarkable. The walls were covered with Elvis Presley memorabilia. There were Elvis posters, framed Elvis portraits, Elvis wall-hangings, Elvis mirrors, Elvis calendars, Elvis Towels and scores of videos and DVDs. The house is a shrine to the late great King of Rock'n'roll.

This was truly fascinating.

Having been lucky enough to have visited Elvis Presley's home, Graceland, a few years ago I was curious to know if she had ever made the pilgrimage.

Oh yes! This amazing woman had been to Graceland 10 times!! She also showed me photographs taken with herself and Elvis' guitarist on a couple of the trips. She had even been to the memorial concert in Hawaii!

Having recently retired she was saving on her pension to return to Memphis in 2010.

Amazing.

I had to ask her how she had been able to get from Auckland to Memphis so many times.(Not a short journey) Her answer was succinct. "Some people drink and smoke - I go and see Elvis".

It is thought provoking to think that someone of such meager means could be able to fulfill such lofty dreams. It made me think - what if you were able to focus with the same degree of intensity on whatever goal you had in mind?

What if financial considerations were not an issue?

What if you could make any sacrifices necessary to reach your dreams?

What if the pleasure attained in achieving your goal became your driving force?

Now think about that in relation to your internet marketing business.

Where could that take you?

What do you want from your business?

Financial freedom? Travel? That perfect lifestyle on the beach? Having time to spend with your family and friends? That car? The recognition of being cited as one of the industries top achievers?

Of course there will be sacrifices to be made but I think that if your focus and your belief are paramount you will reach your target. Just having your end result firmly etched into your mind everyday will make a massive difference to your success. Distractions and frustrations will fall off dramatically. It really is completely in your own hands.

People can do remarkable things.

Wills, Power of Attorneys personal, bank, health - These four items are important even if you don't have a business. You don't have to have a Will because the law has procedures that are in place just incase someone dies without a Will. It is call dieing intestate. However, it can be an expensive process for your beneficiaries and your estate may not go to who you want it to go to. A Will - helps you set up where you want your assets to go to and who they go to. They set out your wishes for the business as well. In Ontario, you do not have to have a Will prepared by a lawyer but sometimes it is in your best interest to do so. There is a lot of info on the internet and kits that are available but they key to this are the witnesses to your signature. You may want to write it yourself and then have a lawyer witness the signing of the Will. If you handwrite you’re Will then you don't need to have it witnessed. But the entire document must be in your handwriting no typing allowed. The Power of Attorneys - Personal or Health Personal - This gives someone consent to act on your behalf if you can't due to physical or mental disabilities. The Power of Attorney goes into effect only when you are incapacitated or you authorize it. So it can be signed and ready to be used but only takes effect when you are ready to use it. You don't need a lawyer to prepare these - there are kits on the internet, there are kits that the government have where you can fill in the blanks. But if you have an extensive estate I would take it to the lawyer because their could be other issues that need to be dealt with. Health – This Power of Attorney outlines what you want to happen in case of medical emergency, for example, do you want to be revived if there is no hope of recovery, is the most common reason, maybe the type of treatment that you want to receive for the particular illness you have. This Power of Attorney protects your health rights when you can't speak for yourself and it gives someone else the right to speak for you. In the Power of Attorney you would outline your request and designate someone to carry them out. Bank - This one designates someone to look after your finances if you aren't able to do them. The banks have special procedures and these forms are completed at the bank. So if you became ill then your designated person can take care of your finances until you are ready to resume doing them. The Power of Attorneys and the Wills are legal documents and they can be revoked or changed at any time. If your estate is very large then I would suggest that you have a lawyer prepare these documents to protect your interest. Again, the law does not have the same rules as a married spouse so this would protect the surviving partner in a common-law relationship. I realize that most of the subjects that are discussed on this site are concerning growing your business but I deal with the hidden aspect of the business as well and these could affect your business as much as if you can't find that next client. I would like to keep this forum a place where internet business owners can learn how to do internet marketing themselves. You must have a great deal of experience in internet marketing. What things in specific (please list out) can ones only learn from experience? I feel people could learn from your experience. Can you share any of your experiences with us? I do understand there is nothing like hands on experience. Maybe you can set up a free online course for people to "experience" this. Jeff
How can I start home-based business? - Hi , there are several marketing strategies available in the internet. but have to decide the trusted one otherwise the result is u will loose ur time and u will never get the commission regularly. Also before get started with anything you have to learn much about that for that its better to surf on internet and you will find some good knowledge and how to increase your revenue using internet marketing.
