How Many Hours Work Will it Take to Become a Leader in the Online Marketing Business Industry?

How long will it take you to achieve the level of success you really strive for in your new online marketing business. The greatest concern is that 97% of internet business people will not make any money from their enterprises. This is a massive number of people who for whatever reason are not making the grade. So, of the 3% that will succeed what is the projected time that it will take to become a top producer.

Recently I heard a really interesting interview with a New Zealand neuroscientist who has worked with some of the most successful sports stars in the world. His name is Dr Kerry Spackman and he shared some interesting insights into what makes a true champion. In his work with top formula one drivers, tennis champions and others he has worked out what separates the top tier from the also rans.

It boils down to this. To be a world champion it will take approximately 10,000 hours of practice to perfect whatever endeavour you are involved in. But this is not about repetition or using over and over the same set of techniques. Driving round and round a track the same way over and over again is not going to make you a better driver. It is all about constant learning and attention to more and more detail as you progress. A true champion will improve with every year.

Years ago I was driving the limousine for an international hotel. I was fortunate to drive the world acclaimed classical guitarist Julian Bream to the airport one day. We had a very interesting conversation about his life as one of the top musicians in the world. He told me that he practices 8 hours a day, every day! Even when he is on tour and playing concerts he still stuck to this regime. That is powerful stuff. He could never be complacent about his abilities. He knew he could still improve every day by sticking with the system that had already taken him to the top.

Look at most people who have succeeded in their respective fields. It is not all about raw talent. Discipline, focus and hard work will be the skills used by the top performers. Do you think Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan or Roger Federer skipped practice? Not a chance.

Do you think Bill Gates or Warren Buffett spent a small amount of time educating and developing themselves? No way.

So here is the thing. If it is going to take 10,000 hours to reach the top in your field I am going to suggest a great shortcut. It is all about standing on the shoulders of giants. By this I mean you must find a business that has an easy, replicable system that has the proof of success of a large number of top producers. The business system should be based on the most successful participants helping the new members duplicate their own results. The training should be step by step and easy to follow so that you will not be one of the 97%.

Fortunately the leaders of the company I work with have done the 10,000 hours practice and this has involved trialling every possible marketing technique and tool and eliminating the ones that don't work. Then they have tweaked and improved the ones with the best results. It has also involved a huge focus on personal development and work on mindset. This is all put together in one package which will expedite your success if you follow the path set down by the top performers.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Forum Marketing Yahoo Answers (I need to use more of) SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Bum Marketing or Article marketing P-P-C (Pay Per Click) Marketing Online Directories Hope this helps.
