Article Overview: For most of us, financial stability weighs heavily on our minds and often keeps us up at night. At one point or another, we all suffer the pain and frustration of being an employee; of being at the beck and call of our “superior,” someone who dictates the majority of our waking hours… and we let them! Don’t feel guilty or embarrassed about this; just accept it for what it is – an example of how not to live your life – and prepare yourself for the day when you call your own shots.

If you’re going to make the leap, give yourself an edge by choosing one of the top online businesses available today.
Embracing the Fear
While we readily acknowledge the need to gain control of our own lives, most of us are too paralyzed by fear to take the first brave step toward joining a top online business. On one hand, we hate our jobs and resent spending more time with coworkers than family. On the other hand, that steady paycheck is comforting, like feeding time at the zoo.
Listen to me: the average human life expectancy in the U.S. is around 76 years. How far along that timeline are you? And do you want to spend the rest of your life living paycheck to paycheck? There's a better way. You know there's a better way. So why can't you pull the trigger?
Leading Causes of Hesitation
• Fear of failure. Or more commonly known as the "They're all gonna laugh at me!" syndrome. Want to hear a secret? They want you to fail! It makes them happy, the bastards. What would you do if you had no fear?
• Comfortable in your present job. This one burns me the most. You hate your job, right? Hate what it says about you and your life, yet you're too afraid of the unknown to leave it. What would happen if you left that job? You'd be broke, right? So start the online business while you still have the job, burn the midnight oil for a few months, and if you pick one of the top online businesses, you'll replace your income in no time.
• No support system. Your spouse, your friends, even your family will bust your chops the first time you mention an online business. "Whoa, are you in Amway? Don't peddle that stuff over here, man!" The solution? Find an online business with its own community, filled with people who know what you're going through. Once you allow yourself to bond with these people, a funny thing will happen. Actually, two funny things: 1) You'll start to feel good about yourself, and 2) you'll care a lot less what the naysayers think. Oh, and 3) you'll start making a lot of money. On your terms.
Choosing a Company
There are so many out there, each one claiming to be the top online business, the oldest, the newest, whatever. How do you decide? How do you know which ones are legitimate businesses, and which are designed to scam you out of your money?
• Determine the date the company was founded. The older the company, generally the more trustworthy they are. Rule of thumb: any less than two years, you may want to reconsider.
• Do a Google search. Read all the reviews, as some companies like to bash others in an attempt to sway you to their side.
• Check with the Better Business Bureau. If the company is registered, that's a very good sign.
• Review their compensation plan. If a company is promising five figures in your first month and doesn't have a very solid system in place to back up those claims, it's probably best to walk away. Legitimate online businesses require as much, if not more work as a brick and mortar business. Get rich quick doesn't work. You have to give it your best every day. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you. There is no magic bullet.
Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki have both been quoted as saying if they had to make their fortunes all over again, they would do it via direct marketing.
The internet is the best thing that ever happened to business owners. Combine a little knowledge and a lot of sweat equity, and you will achieve your financial dreams via a top online business!
