5 things to look for when researching legitimate home based business opportunities

This list will not be all inclusive, but are things that you need to definitely look at in order to find a legitimate home based business opportunity.

5 things to look for when researching legitimate home based business opportunities

• The Marketing System - Is there a system in place that you can leverage and not have to chase your friends and relatives around trying to convince them to buy into your program? This may have been the "way to go" with the businesses of the past, but with the internet around this will not be a viable option for you and it will save your relationship with your friends and family anyway. Another question that you can ask is if the system can be marketed worldwide and how many countries is it currently in?
• Charitable - Does the company give back to the community? A legitimate company knows that this is a requirement to be successful, the philosophy is that the more you give, it comes back to you ten fold.
• Compensation Plan - Does the company have a good compensation plan? Do they have a strong residual income on the back end of their opportunity? This is key for the company to be able to stay around long term, a strong residual income on the back end will attract alot of serious entrepreneurs to their opportunity.
• Training - How solid is the training that this company provides to the new entrepreneurs coming into their organization? The stronger the training, the easier it will be to keep people long term in their opportunity.
• Products - Does the company have a unique product that appeals to alot of people? The products are what make the company who they are, a good unique product that appeals to the masses will definitely keep this company moving in the right direction for years to come.

In summary, these are just some of the things that you need to look for andask questions about when researching a legitimate home based business. If the company that you are looking at joining has all of these characteristics, they're more than likely a legitimate company that will do well for themselves and be a good opportunity for you tojoin. Keep in mind, a legitimate home based business will also have a decent upfront investment that you'll need to look at before taking the plunge, but if it has all of these traits is probably well worth the investment.

How can I start home-based business? - I am not sure what you mean by home-based and how my story can help but my home-based business is my web design business. I can work from home and go out to meet my clients. These times (When I'm out) is the most 'dangerous', because if clients need some files or if something didn't get through email, I'll need to find the nearest internet hot spot (i bring my external hard drive everywhere) to service the client or come up with an excuse. initially it was difficult, working from home and starting up. work was scarce but I knew it was only in the beginning. after 5 months, I have quite a constant flow of work but still the cheques are not that regular but its getting there. I met other people who has started home-based business and they range from travel agents to company secretaries. hope that helps
Re: Which franchise would you buy? - I like franchises that I have a personal interest in. I know this sounds redudant, but you hear about people who think they are going to invest in one franchise (or franchise industry), only to go a completely different direction after researching and gathering info. Personally, I like home service franchises - most of these are either mobile or home based (or both) and usually have relatively low start up costs (and there are many many to choose from across the industry).
Re: Startup blogs - If you are thinking about starting a small business or a home-based business, then one thing you can do is start blogging about stuff in your proposed business field as a way to (1) get your ideas straight and start researching your field. (2) build up a presence on the web before you launch your business. Sure, once you get to the set up phase, assuming your business operates offline or mainly offline, then blogging may be less of a priority compared to the more urgent stuff.
Insurance for Home Based Business? - Apparently homeowners insurance and liability insurance may not be enough to cover your at home based business. Especially if you are running the business out of a detached garage or other dwelling on your property. Does anyone have another type of business insurance for their home based business or know anything about this?
