Internet Marketing Education - How to get free leads with keyword research

When starting your internet marketing journey, this tool is great for moving you forward in your business because after all, if this is where you need to begin your journey, you wouldn't be able to move forward without it. First off, you will need to brainstorm some ideas of keywords that you can start researching to see where people are searching. If this is an internet marketing business that you're going to start promoting, maybe you can start there. Let's take a look; if you go to the free keyword site that I mentioned earlier and plug in "internet marketing business", to the left side of the tool under the header "searches", you will see that it says 107. Ok, so go to your search engine of preference (I chose google) and search for internet marketing business and what you will find is that shows a result of 121,000,000, which means that this is way too competitive a market to jump into, right? Maybe, maybe not! This is where your internet marketing education starts to progress in a positive manner to keep you moving forward.

So, here's what you do to determine if you want to get into the market of this keyword phrase or not. As you can see, there are 121,000,000 results with the way that you originally searched for this keyword phrase, go back into the top of the page where your keyword phrase is located and put quotation marks at the front and the end of this keyword phrase and hit "enter" on your keyboard. Now, as you can see the results have dropped dramatically to 841,000 and is still a bit competitive for my taste when trying to get ranked on the first page of the search engines in the organic listings for free. Ideally, you would want that number to be 20,000 or less to really make it happen for you and once you find that keyword phrase that is in this criteria, you need to really knock it out of the park. What I mean by knocking it out of the park is this; take that keyword phrase and write and submit an article with your keyword phrase in the body 2 to 3 times and at the beginning of your title, like I have done at the top of this article. Then, take that same keyword phrase and write a press release with your keywords in the body just like you did with your article and submit that to several different press release sites, there are also sites that will allow you to submit your press releases for free.

This method should get you off to a good jump start and as you move forward in your business, you will learn more and get better as you go as long as you are consistent and persistent in your efforts every day. So, get out there and just start working your business, don't give up and keep coming back for more internet marketing education as you go and you will be successful in your endeavors and achieve the goals that you have set for yourself.

Re: That First Customer! Re: That First Customer! - Hey Tristan, Another thing to consider is to think about how targeted your visitors are. Meaning, are they actually looking for what you have to offer, and if so, are they finding it. Proper keyword research and testing will help you bring in targeted leads from the search engines. I think this will help you get that first customer and keep bringing in more and more customers.
Re: New Year Resolutions... Re: New Year Resolutions... -
The difference between writing and Internet Marketing is that with writing, I have to write every article before I can get paid. It's like a J.O.B. - if you don't show up, you don't get paid. In contrast, with Internet Marketing, if you can get the system set up properly, you can reduce the need for physical interaction with your business and increase the amount of "free time" you have.[/quote:n443l59w] Hi GT, That's a good goal you've set for yourself and thanks for sharing! So how far away are you from making the transition from writer to full fledged internet marketer?
Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? - If you use a good keyword research tool like Keyword Discovery or WordTracker, you'll find a lot of solid profitable keyword phrases that don't make a lot of sense. You should also be able to uncover some phrases that make better sense and still have a decent profitability. By profitability, I mean the keyword phrases have a decent search volume but a low lever of competition. I always teach that you have to write for real people first and the search engines second. If you try to weave a strange keyword phrase into your article with a fixed keyword density, it will sound strange and that can affect your credibility and trust.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy -
Hello Friends.......... Best Internet Marketing Strategy are # Start with a web promotion plan and an effective web design and development strategy. # Get ranked at the top in major search engines, and practice good Search Optimization Techniques. # Learn to use Email Marketing Effectively. # Dominate your marketing niche with affiliate, reseller, and associate programs. # Request an analysis from an Internet marketing coach or Internet marketing consultant. # Build a responsive opt-in email list.[/quote:2wxugq3d] Hi Jenny, All good valid advice here to readers. The one thing I might add for clarification to readers is on point number 4 concerning "dominating" search results. I always like to clarify the importance of dominating for a variety of well researched keyword phrases that ideally target your ideal buying audience. Sometimes people misunderstand and think the objective is too dominate all top 10 spots for the same keyword. The reason this is not wise is that anyone successfully dominating all top 10 spots may actually be reported to Google Abuse because the purpose of a search engine is to display a variety of choices. Competitors can become quite upset with a company who is dominating all top 10 spots for the same phrase. I realize you know this already, but just thought I'd throw it in for anyone new to SEO. A better way to "dominate" is for a variety of very well researched phrases to pull in multiple audiences of readers. Great post Jenny. Thanks
