Corporate burn-out - what's next?

I have watched friends, and colleagues climb their way up the corporate ladder to end up at "corporate burn-out". It is common, people get into a rut, they have invested so much time, and energy, and they are so frazzled they don't know what to do next. If you have ever experienced corporate burn-out, you know that you don't want to climb the ladder anymore, your tired of company politics, working late, even if they dangle that low hanging fruit to get you motivated again. If you do stay in corporate burn out, it is because you feel like you have no other choice. It is common to stay in a position, whatever level you have achieved, because your family likes the so-called security, you don't want to rock the family boat. It is totally understandable why your family would feel this way. That is all they know. That is all you know if you have been there a while. Before you can decide "the next thing", you have to look at your drive, determination and goals. You have to examine yourself, and the destination you have arrived, to see if you would be a candidate for the next thing, or if you will be one of those who will stay, and settle for what you have. Ask yourself these questions. Write the answers down and be honest with yourself. You can't trick yourself, your subconscious already knows what you really want. - Will you really be happy if you stay in your current job for the next 5, 10, or 20 years? - Do you work more often then spending time with your family? - Do you feel like you have reached your income cap, but want more? - Do you want more time to do things like travel and adventure, or hobbies? - Do you miss major family events due to work? - Are you bored at work? - Are the people at your job bringing you up - or are they bringing you down? - Are you sick of company politics and can't stand the thought of playing in them anymore? Once you have taken a look at these answers, you will know if you are satisfied to stay in corporate burn out, OR if you are like many before you who decided it was time to make a move. If you have decided, "I can't do this anymore, I need a new plan." It is time to talk to your family, and let them know your pain, and your desires. Your desires are what they want too, for you and them. Get them aligned with your vision by sharing what you want for all of them. Now this can be the hard part, you have to commit to the decision. DECIDE you are on a better path to achieve exactly what you want. Outline a list of what you really want your day to look like. Don't be a skeptic by saying, "I can't have what I really want." That is not true, you are only limited by what your mind can conceive. Get the book, "Think and Grow Rich", by Napolean Hill. A must for anyone taking action on their new dream lifestyle. You want to work on your mindset so your head can catch up with your heart. After you have written your goals down, look for opportunities that will give you the lifestyle you want to have. If you are like most corporate burn outs, you will move into the direction of being an entrepreneur, instead of working for another employer. It is not an easy transition for most to go from employee to entrepreneur. If you can follow a path of those who have done it before you, you will be more successful. You will avoid the mistakes that they have already made. You want to find a community of like minded thinkers who will share exactly what they have done to achieve their entrepreneurial success. They will show you how to continue to make the same salary you are accustom to, and in some cases even MORE than your corporate career could ever give you. This is about you determining your income potential and finally achieving what your are really worth. When searching for opportunities that allow you to be your own business owner, be wary of any business you start from scratch where you create the system. System's leverage your time and will help you succeed quicker. Trust me, I have done it both ways. If you consider a Franchise, keep in mind the reality of your day, spending 12-16 hours building your brick and mortar business with large overhead, rent, employees, insurance, inventory just to list a few. You want to make sure you profit from your business so your creditors don't get paid more than you. There is a new business model that many former corporate burn outs, and failed entrepreneurs are having success with that will allow you to work on your own schedule, work from anywhere in the world, and more importantly spend time with the people who matter in your life. This business model is not a franchise, or an MLM, it is online home business that has an education platform with an integrated sales system that teaches you everything you need know about running an online business. The sales system works for you 24/7 while tapping into the largest market in the world. This is about leverage, and having your system work for you while you are doing other things. The income potential with this business model will exceed your expectation of your six figure salary. You can make more in a month than you could in a year, if you are driven, determined, and invest 3-6 months into your education as a new business owner. I didn't say this was easy. It is for someone who is driven, and hungry for change. It is 100% duplicatable by anyone willing to put in the effort. As a corporate burn out, you have to think about how bad you want change in your life. YOU and only you can decide what is next. You could go look for another job, and plug away, and maybe you are the kind of person who would be happy with that. Nothing is wrong with that goal. If you are a person who knows that there is a better way for you and your family, and you want to explore what is next in greater detail, do your due diligence. Find out what is possible for you as an entrepreneur. 95% of businesses fail, align yourself with proven systems to avoid pitfalls. You can become the 1% that is highly successful. If you decide to take action, work on your fortune part-time on the weekends and nights, you can fire your boss when your income exceeds your goal. Are you ready to be an ex-corporate burn out who is a highly successful entrepreneur? I'm glad I did.

We are a husband and wife team who were at the end of our rope. We had given up our six figure jobs to start a brick and mortar business and invested upwards of a quarter of a million dollars to end up with absolutely nothing at the end of a seven year push.

We had to pay off debts, and start over with virtually nothing to stand on. All we wanted was to work at home so we could raise our kids and work from anywhere in the world.

We searched for the answers on the internet. We found it! At first we were a bit skeptical and after doing our due diligence we realized that we had found an education platform that would allow us to learn, earn and turn our dreams into reality.

We ordered the system and went to work as it instructed. We had results immediately. It was simple, easy, and we could learn how to market anything, to anyone, anywhere in the world using the internet.

We haven't looked back. We have been extremely fortunate to find something that can educate us and set us up for life. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge with others who are looking for big changes in their life. We now work from home, and work anywhere in the world so that we can be with family and friends. Guy Luminato is born to Italian parents and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Michele Luminato was born and raised in Billings, Montana.

Re: Your Big Project This Week: What is it? Re: Your Big Project This Week: What is it? - You are right GT we do need to push ourselves in order to grow, but too much and for too long and you reach burnout point. The answer when strapped for time with the internet marketing business is to outsource, but that can also become quite expensive. MichelleJ

As they say "everything in moderation'. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. You could always pop in once or twice a month and say HI... no strings attached of course! But, the one thing I notice is that when you are involved in an online business and spending so many hours a day in front of the computer, as both of you are... it can be taxing. Add your active participation in a forum to the mix and you probably have a good recipe for burnout. Understood! Good luck with all of your projects!
