Top franchise businesses suffer in current economy while home online business soars

It is no secret that top franchise business owners have taken a hit in this crazy economy.

The most sought after franchise business, based on google searches, is the coffee and restaurant business. Everyone knows that Starbucks is a franchise that many people wish they could own.

Subway is another sought after franchise. It's more popular than McDonalds based on what people search for when they are looking to start a franchise business.

The next franchise search appears to be the idea of low cost franchise opportunities. With the economy as it is, people are still looking to start a business but don't have the quarter of a million or more it takes to start a basic franchise.

If the booming coffee industry had to close down some of it's franchises, it means that there is not a franchise out there that is safe from the tightening of the American money belt.

Interestingly enough, the online market industry is booming. There is no recession online by the looks of the success online marketers are having with growing their business by increases of 300% in some cases.

The internet allows online home business owners the ability to tap into 1.5 billion people on the net. This reaches people all over the world. It does not rely on the fact that a person in a local community will walk in to buy a product.

As a former brick and mortar business owner, I know what it feels like when the local economy, and even national economy tighten up their belt and stay inside.

The other interesting fact about this economy is that people are searching for a home business to make extra money, and the online home business world is thriving with people who have found a solution to their problems.

Not every home business and online marketing business will be successful. It takes due diligence to find a quality company to be associated with that is legitimate. You want to make sure you join an elite community of successful online marketers who can show you the ropes.

If you invest 3-6 months into learning new skills that will allow you to market anything to anyone, from anywhere in the world, you will be set for life. The internet is not going away, it is only getting bigger. The people who know how to leverage it will be the most successful in business.

There is an insane amount of money to be made. When you decide to be a part of this wealthy community, give back there are good causes that need the money. It will come back to you. One way we give back is to teach others how to become successful home business owners with this new business model.

We are giving more than we ever have, and we are getting more than we could have ever dreamt of. The most cherished is our freedom to be anywhere with those who matter most and live life to the fullest.

We are a husband and wife team who were at the end of our rope. We had given up our six figure jobs to start a brick and mortar business and invested upwards of a quarter of a million dollars to end up with absolutely nothing at the end of a seven year push.

We had to pay off debts, and start over with virtually nothing to stand on. All we wanted was to work at home so we could raise our kids and work from anywhere in the world.

We searched for the answers on the internet. We found it! At first we were a bit skeptical and after doing our due diligence we realized that we had found an education platform that would allow us to learn, earn and turn our dreams into reality.

We ordered the system and went to work as it instructed. We had results immediately. It was simple, easy, and we could learn how to market anything, to anyone, anywhere in the world using the internet.

We haven't looked back. We have been extremely fortunate to find something that can educate us and set us up for life. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge with others who are looking for big changes in their life. Re: Are Economic Recessions Good for Franchising? Re: Are Economic Recessions Good for Franchising? - I am in the franchise lending business and I haven't really seen any decline in the amount of loans we do daily, if anything i have seen them increase. More and more people are turning to opening their own businesses. Feds lowered the rates in hopes to encourage people to go for it. Franchising is a good first time business owners choice, because the franchise helps you with training and ongoing support. having a name people recognize is going to help that busiensses sales. I think overall, most franchises are not going to suffer in these times. However, your business being a success is more dependent upon your location and competition, how well you run it, advertise it and what type of business you are in. Is it a business with a product or service that is in high demand in your location? Is there a lot of competition near you so you aren't continuously competing & fighting to get customers into your own business? If I could, I would open a franchise in my area. I can think of at least 10 franchises off the top of my head that would do fantastic where I am, because I don't see much competitin, if any at all for them. I know they would do well here because I know the area and what people would like to see here and what the neighborhood needs.
Re: Are Economic Recessions Good for Franchising? Re: Are Economic Recessions Good for Franchising? - If you have the money to franchise upfront, then why not? I agree with the franchises that RussellWebb listed, especially, yet unfortunately, debt collection and tax preparers and advisors. I know of a couple who has the income to put enough money down on a bank owned property, rent it out, and hope to turn it around for a profit once the economy picks up again. I think that buying a business, franchise or not, would be a good way to make money. Of course, a business takes a lot more care and attention than renting out a house, but I can see potential in it. I'm sure there are a lot of businesses out there that are trying to get sold now.
Re: Which franchise would you buy? Re: Which franchise would you buy? - I know this topic is nearly 10 months old, but this is a question you can ask at anytime. It might be interesting to ask, now, once again, what franchise (or in what industry) would you buy at this time? I was recently on a forum and came by the discussion on whether or not a franchise investment in the Advertising industry might be wise at this time? Something along the lines of a sign business, multi-media opportunity, etc. Won't businesses be needing/using these types of franchise businesses more than ever to try and gain customers/clients?
Re: What is the Best Franchise? Re: What is the Best Franchise? - As a franchise owner the things that I look for in a prospective franchise is: 1- A proven track record. Too many franchises try and branch out long before they have perfected their product, don't become a guinea pig for them to figure out what works and what doesnt. 2- Support. A good franchise should have great communication with it's franchisee's and be available to meet it's franchisees needs. Youre only contact with them shouldn't be when you have a problem. Good franchises involves it's franchisees in building it's business. 3- A Great System. McDonald's doesn't exactly make a good hamburger but they have an excellent system of conducting business. The real value in a franchise is the system, not necessarily the product. There are many other factors in deciding on a franchise but many of those are personal to you and your situation. The best thing to do is to conduct as much research as possible and speak with every current franchisee you can and get a feel for the franchise. garyshouldis.com
Re: Best way to start a business? Re: Best way to start a business? - Hi Rob Welcome to the forum, nice to see you in here. I agree that many people have started franchises without prior business knowledge, but if one listens to what Robert Kiyosaki says in one of his interviews where he is discussing franchise and MLM types of businesses. He says that for anyone joining these types of business their first priority is to learn what the franchise or MLM company can teach them. This will give them a solid start of business knowledge which can then be used in starting their own businesses from scratch. MichelleJ
