What Does Consistancy in Your Internet Marketing Have To Do With The Psychology of Persuading?

Your internet marketing strategies have everything to with the Psychology of persuading. You have to understand how people think, and what makes them say "yes" to a buy. This concept is one of the reasons an internet marketer will go from good to great. They spend time studying people, and what makes them tick. They learn that people don't trust right off the bat, and need to get to know you before they trust you. Being consistent in a message will help you grow that trust with ease.

Testing has been done in the psychology of persuading over the years by analyzing how people finally say yes. In essence, these tests are saying that people want to be consistent with previous actions.

If they said yes to something in the past, they are more likely to say yes in the future.

What does this mean to you as an internet marketer? You want to get your prospects to say yes to something small. The best way of doing that is to ask them for a tiny commitment first before the big sale. You don't want to ask for the largest sale right off the bat.

Here is an example of what I mean, and how it could apply to your internet marketing sales funnel. For the purpose of demonstrating an idea, I'm going to use training and coaching as the product in the sales funnel.

First, have them opt in to your auto responders, and download a free report, or short video series. You could have these videos add up to about 10 minutes in length, or 10 minutes in reading.

The next step is to offer them the Expanded or Upgrade version of a few videos on this topic. These videos would be longer and add up to 45 minutes or an 1 hour. Remember, this is all really valuable content, not just fluff. Give them something they can sink their teeth into.

After that series, offer them the opportunity to buy the "DVD" for a lifetime reference. This DVD again will provide super valuable content. Think about what they will want, and where their mind is when they are making their first official purchase. Since this is their first purchase, make it small, around the $19.97 price point.

Next you might offer them free 10 minute consultation if they bought your DVD. Make sure that the DVD is good content that keeps them wanting more. This consultation is a perfect point for them to get to know you personally. Be real, authentic, and helpful. Your underlying goal here is to help them with their problem. You always want to help them first, and foremost.

Once they have gotten to know you, they will now trust you, and begin to really value you for what you can offer them. You are now providing them a consistent solution to their problem. The next buying proposition could be "Private access to training" in a group setting. This time the value is raised and the price is $395. You want to also make a 110% money back guarantee, so they feel the risk is low. The key is to under promise, and over deliver. You keep them wanting more.

The next phase in the sales funnel could be a opportunity for "Private one-on-one coaching". This is a larger ticket item. It could cost $2,000 and includes 200% money back guarantee. You will guarantee that without any doubt, they will get results or get their money back and free coaching. This is about over delivering on a solution to their problems.

Of course, this is an example of a sales funnel, and not everyone is selling marketing training']);"> internet marketing training - but you can get the idea. The idea is that if you provide valuable content, in small doses, they will want more. The lesson here is really about trust combined with value, and having patience with your newly found prospect. Once they buy from you once, and find what you have to offer is extremely valuable, they will come back for more.

We are a husband and wife team who were at the end of our rope. We had given up our six figure jobs to start a brick and mortar business and invested upwards of a quarter of a million dollars to end up with absolutely nothing at the end of a seven year push.

We had to pay off debts, and start over with virtually nothing to stand on. All we wanted was to work at home so we could raise our kids and work from anywhere in the world.

We searched for the answers on the internet. We found it! At first we were a bit skeptical and after doing our due diligence we realized that we had found an education platform that would allow us to learn, earn and turn our dreams into reality.

We ordered the system and went to work as it instructed. We had results immediately. It was simple, easy, and we could learn how to market anything, to anyone, anywhere in the world using the internet.

We haven't looked back. We have been extremely fortunate to find something that can educate us and set us up for life. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge with others who are looking for big changes in their life. Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach - Hi Julie, Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
