Twitter Tips For Online Business Entrepeneurs

We know that we have to build a profile on Twitter that has personality and character. We also know that we shouldn't be too concerned with selling our online business and spamming messages to our followers to try and get them to open our link.

The traffic we attract to our Twitter page is not unlike any other traffic that we want to attract; great if it helps you make money at home. It is not so important to have quantity as it is to have quality. Some people even suggest that you keep several Twitter accounts. One that you follow market leaders on and get the top stories from and another that you have your thousands of followers on and that you can then relay the newest trends to from your online business market leaders or gurus. This is not a bad idea as by re tweeting market leaders Tweets to your followers you can become a market leader yourself to your followers.

It is also suggested that you keep an account that you use just for people that you have developed an online business marketing relationship with. You may not be selling or buying from these people but you have developed a relationship with them and you are learning from their products, sales pitches and useful tools that they use.

Having separate accounts for different groups of people may mean that you have to manage the accounts more closely but it also helps you define the tasks that you are doing on each account and this helps you feel organized and also gives you an indication of the tasks that need to be done on each account. This in itself can save you time as you log in and complete the tasks and log out as opposed to logging in and getting lost amongst your 30,000 followers that you have followed from within the followers of leaders in your niche.

A handy tool to use for following and un-following people on Twitter is 'Twitter Karma'. This tool works best on browsers other than Internet Explorer. It works well on Mozilla Firefox.

Twitter Karma allows you to automatically follow people that are following you and un-follow people that you have followed but who choose not to follow you back.

The task of using Twitter Karma is best scheduled for a specific day of the week and it is best to not follow anyone for a few days prior to this scheduled day. This allows people that you have followed a few days to follow you back as if you un-follow too soon you may be loosing potentially good business opportunities or at least learning opportunities.

Twitter Karma also has a tool that allows you to see when someone you are following was last active on Twitter. Some say a week off the scene of Twitter and you are no longer relevant. This may be too harsh. If a relationship has been formed then it is not unreasonable to allow a month or two of inactivity as things happen in our lives that overtake our need to tweet and when someone returns after a long spell they may be grateful of your following and a relationship may be built around this conversation. When it all comes down to it this is what it is all about; forming relationships that may turn into friendship, business or just acquaintances. All in all any of these outcomes are positive for the tweeters.

Tweet Later is another great Twitter tool that automates responses when people follow you back. Many people put nice little messages here welcoming people to their twitter world whilst others direct people to gifts or useful websites. In this way you can use Tweet Later to reward people for following you.

Twitter is a social marketing site. This means that it is used to promote many things such as business, personal hobbies or just group formation. As a business site it is important to be courteous and not get into the habit of spamming. People like content in their Tweets and you can soon become known for the content in your Tweets whether it is because they have great business information, free advertising, humor, political comment or wise sayings from a variety of places.

There are many more great twitter tools available and as I find them and learn to use them I will write about them so that others can find the value of them.

Re: Twitter vs Facebook Re: Twitter vs Facebook - I use Facebook pages for Business and rarely ever use Twitter. I hace lost count of the no. of Hotels that I have visited, regarding their marketing campaigns, that may have 5k Facebook Fans and only 100 followers on Twitter. It is a lot more difficult to engage with people on Twitter and thus harder to gain traction. If you are a business like Nike, then Twitter is great, but if you are an SME, then focus on Facebook or LinkedIn (if you are providing a professional service.) You can always have your Facebook feed directly in to Twitter, so you can have a presence on both, but do the work on one. Also check out ping.fm for managing campaigns - it is a free tool, and a great time saver.

I don’t know about b2b marketing but I have done marketing so know things about it. I will suggest you to take online services which will spread your business all over web network. Online marketing is the best way to market any business.[/quote:428owzbi] B2B = Business to Business - You are marketing to other businesses. B2C = Business to Consumer - You are marketing to consumers.
