Is Keyword Research really all that Important It surely Is

As a matter of fact keywords are a industry in themselves. Marketers are always talking about keywords in some capacity because everything that we do on the internet is based on keywords or (money words) a new keyword research tool is launched daily to meet the demand for marketers needing to do quicker, better, faster and more accurate Keyword Research. So this is serious business indeed it is what the whole of people doing business on line are always talking about or looking for.

How you should be looking at Keyword Research

When you begin your Keyword Research you want to be approaching it from two angles. From the angle of Google, Yahoo and MSN the major search engines and of the angle of your potential customer. So you should have already been on Google and found what your customers are typing in when they are searching for your product or service. And which are the keywords that are on the first page or which keywords are ranking right now. So that you may write an article using them as a topic or shoot a video both would be great because Google like diversity.

Here's how you'd do some solid Keyword Research

Pick Your Main Keyword

You will be selecting your base keyword of each of the types of keywords you will be compiling a list of. These are going to be the most referred to words applied to your product or service by yourself, your customers and by your competition while you are selecting these keywords you need to run the keyword in a Google search both with quotes and without you would like to be targeting keywords that are showing up with 350,00 to 500,00 when you search them with quotes this is your keyword directory.

Use Multiple Sources

Each search engine has a different way of coming up with its numbers for how many times a particular keyword phrase is searched for. So by using varying sources you will be giving yourself a advantage because you are using this strategy to round your searches out. You will be using your own knowledge of your customers you will be conducting investigations of your competitors websites monitoring which keywords they are targeting. So that you will know how to tweek your marketing campaign

Re: Would you pass on a media opportunity? Re: Would you pass on a media opportunity? - I guess my answer would have to depend on why I was offered a media opportunity. Some people are born to be confident in front of cameras, and I am surely not one of them, but if it ha something to do with politics, I'm surely gonna pass on that one.

Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - Hi Yinka, I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent"). We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!
Re: Keyword Selection Re: Keyword Selection - Hi All, Very interesting topic of discussion! Website success mainly depends upon the target keywords so the keywords should be relevant to website theme. Long tail keywords often rank easily in SERP. You can also use Ad word Keyword tool for keyword selection. Keyword having less competition and high monthly search volume are easy to rank.
