Setting the Foundation On How to Work from Home and Earn Money

Congratulations, you have decided to work from home opening the door to so many possibilities for you and your family.  You are probably a little anxious and excited to get the ball rolling; however, it is very important to make sure you have a solid foundation in place prior to “jumping in the deep end”.

 

Let’s assume, you have decided on the product/service you will be working from home.  The next steps, though may seem overly simply, really make or break home-based businesses.  You increase your chances of having a successful home business if you do the following:

 

1)    Create a Business Plan

2)    Develop a Work Plan

3)    Establish Working Hours

4)    Designate Working Area

Create a Business Plan

  • Purpose of business
  • Target consumer
  • SWOT
  • Competition assessment
  • Marketing budget
  • Income needs and timing

     

Develop a Work Plan

  • Daily actions needed
  • Weekly actions needed
  • Monthly actions needed
  • Tracking mechanism established

     

Establish Working Hours

  • How many hours a day will you focus on business?
  • How many days a week will you focus on business?
  • What do you need to do to ensure this time is uninterrupted and solely dedicated to moving the business forward?

     

Designate Working Area

  • Establish area solely for working business
  • Ensure all necessary tools/resources available
  • Maximize productivity by minimizing unnecessary disruptions

John Power, founder of Biltmore Franchise Consulting, has extensive experience developing and marketing franchises and business opportunities.
