Using Your Passion to Find Financial Freedom
|
| Guest post by: Denise Porter |
Article Overview: Remember that passion is the "fire in your belly" (not the burning gut feeling, that's something else altogether and you should probably grab some Tums when that happens). No matter how you decide to implement your Plan E (escape from the everyday humdrum work you've been doing) you must immediately spring into action and infuse each moment with your passion. That means love every moment and every action that brings you closer to financial freedom.

Using Your Passion to Find Financial Freedom
Now that you have discovered your passion, how can you use it to find financial freedom, fire your boss, escape the matrix, or just enjoy what you do for a living? Well you could:
1.Visit your local SBA office and have someone help you to
2.Create a business plan that can then be used to
3.Get a loan from the bank
4.That will enable you to purchase a domain, supplies, business cards, office space etc.
5.And advertise for clients for your business
OR
You could instead search for a network marketing business opportunity that fits all the criteria for what you are passionate about. There are MLM opportunities for everything from weight loss to decorating to affordable health care. The startup cost for an MLM opportunity is minimal when compared to the cost of starting a new business by yourself, and the business infrastructure is already in place - customer service, factories, warehouses, training and support, web sites etc.
Remember that passion is the "fire in your belly" (not the burning gut feeling, that's something else altogether and you should probably grab some Tums when that happens). No matter how you decide to implement your Plan E (escape from the everyday humdrum work you've been doing) you must immediately spring into action and infuse each moment with your passion. That means love every moment and every action that brings you closer to financial freedom.
Now for the caveats - why are there caveats? Well, let me tell you a story. I was married at 19 and divorced by 23 (I just wasn't all that passionate about him anymore). This situation led me to believe that girls should not commit themselves to marriage until age 25 and boys can wait even longer, because my friend passion waxes and wanes. Here today, gone tomorrow, that's passion for you.
A few years ago, my husband and his band went on tour. They had a very tight budget and I am the Queen of luxury on the cheap, so I was in charge of booking their hotels and putting their itinerary together. The tour took them to Europe and I worked with a promoter, who was based out of London, creating their itinerary and booking hotels and flights, purchasing tickets for trains and buses and arranging transport from airports to venues.
For some strange reason, I absolutely fell in love with England and, after my husband's second trip overseas, I decided that we should move there. When I told my promoter friend what my plans were, he emailed me asking "Do you have a job here?" And that was the end of that.
He made me realize that I had a passion, but I did not have a plan. This is the number one killer of dreams - lack of planning and research. Ok now for those caveats:
- Do not quit your job until the income from your new venture has equaled or exceeded the income from your job for at least 3 months (unless of course your passion has led you to a better job)
- If you do quit your job make sure that you have enough money saved to live on and also enough to invest into your business
- If you are embarking on a home business or at-home venture, make sure that you have the self-discipline required to work without supervision
