6 Red Hot Tips To Get Your Articles Read
As an onilne marketer, you SHOULD realize the importance of doing ALL crucial methods of advertising to drive targeted traffic to your website. I personally believe that if you are NOT using article marketing as ONE of your methods, you are losing out big time. The importance of writing ANYTHING for your online business is crucial....sales pages, blog posts, email marketing, etc.....these ALL require writing to optimize results. Some of you already know that if you DON'T do this effectively, you WILL get poor results.
Below are some suggestions for you to increase your odds of getting your article read AND getting the reader to respond. Just like all other forms of advertsing, getting someone to read your content is only a small portion of what you want them to do. Usually, some kind of call for action is required and that is where your writing ability will increase your odds....
1.) Use short paragraphs
When the paragraphs are very long, the words get jumbled in the mind of the reader just looking at it. It can become quite confusing and too much work to read. The reader will just quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to other articles that are good to look at, as well as read. Paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word! Never forget that the reader is most important here, not YOU! Your main goal is to consider what the reader sees and then what the reader reads. Think about it....you see a potential car before you consider buying it. IF that car is NOT attractive looking, you won't even test drive it right?
2.) Make use of numbers or bullets
As each point is stressed out, numbers and bullets can quickly make the point easy to remember and digest. As each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start and getting stressed. Format your bullets and numbers with indentations so that your article won’t look like a single block of square paragraphs. You'll notice while reading this article that is very clear as to when my purpose, tips, suggestions, advice, etc. start. The numbers and bold letters of the "bullet" make it very obvious to you as a reader that I am stressing specific points to consider.
3.) Use Sub-headings to sub-divide your paragraphs in the page
Doing this will break each point into sections but still would be incorporated into one whole article. It would also be easy for the reader to move on from one point to another; the transition would be smooth and easy. You will never lose your readers attention and at the same time, you will continue to guide that reader to wherever it is that you want them to go. Ideally, you want them to click on your resource box and go to your directed link of choice for desired traffic!
4.) Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header
If your title can entice a person’s curiosity, you’re already halfway there to getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your articles content but should also be short and concise.
Leaving SOME to the imagination is good. People are naturally curious and if you can lead them based upon your title to read the article and then lead them by your sub-headers and bullet points, the next thing you know, they are finished reading the article. Use titles like, “Tips on making her want you more”, or “How to make her swoon and blush” .You could also use titles that can command people. For example, “Make her yours in six easy Ways”. These types of titles reach out to a persons’ emotions and provokes interest and curiosity.
5) Keep them interested from the start to the finish
From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive your point, just don’t over do it. Driving your examples with graphic metaphors and similes will make it easy for them to imagine what you are talking about. Making the experience pleasurable and enjoyable for them is what you're striving for.
There is nothing better than educating your reader because that is ultimately what the reader is searching for....learning something. This is exactly what your article SHOULD do...educate them and lead them to your site.
6) Utilize figures when necessary and not just ordinary statements
Using specific facts and figures can heighten your article because it makes it authoritative. Do not make it too formal. It should be comparible to a teacher speaking and teaching a student. You want to use facts and anything else that will help that student/reader understand and remember what he/she is reading/learning. When you appear to be the "teacher" and the reader is submissive to that because of your educational content, you will almost ALWAYS earn a unique visitor to your selected site from your article!
So as you can see, there are some quality points that you need to keep in mind when it comes to writing articles. ALWAYS think of the readers and the readers perspective. When article marketing is done correctly, you WILL see traffic to your site and this traffic can convert easily to sales and/or subscribers, as they are targeted visitors!
