Four Things All Business Opportunity Seekers Need To Consider For Success

When it comes to searching for a business opportunity, you won’t have to look hard or long to figure out that everyone claims that their service/product/program is the one you should join. With that being said, the following information will help you determine, on your own, which program or opportunity would be best to join.

1.) Understand The Program/Opportunity Details

It is NOT uncommon for a new and inexperienced business opportunity seeker to make some crucial mistakes that will ultimately lead to their failure without them even knowing it. Therefore, my first suggestion is to completely know and understand every aspect of the company, opportunity, and the service/product in which they sell and promote.

You should know when the company started, where their headquarters are located, who is the founder of the company, and have they ever had any legal issues that are public information. These are important to know because if you join in and are actively promoting their company/product/service, a potential prospect will likely want to know these things and giving them answers that are true and accurate will be quite impressive.

Test the customer service of the company by calling as a potential customer or representative and see how long it takes them to respond. Were they friendly? Courteous? Helpful? This is most likely what your customers or potential team members may experience so it’s important to know how they handle this aspect of their business.

Understand the compensation plan and how/when you will be paid. This is obvious but many get involved, make a sale or recruit someone and expect to get paid but find out THEN that they have to get 2 sales before they get paid. It’s not uncommon for those that recruit you to not have made any money yet and therefore, even THEY may not know the compensation plan. It’s your responsibility to know and understand this completely. Ask this question when you phone to test their customer service.

2.) Use The Service/Product That You Are Going To Promote

I can’t stress enough that if you’re not using the service or product of the opportunity that you are going to sell, promote, and recruit for, you should NOT be involved. You cannot expect others to join, sell, promote, and use a product/service if you don’t. By actually having your own stories associated with the product/service, you are actually providing true and honest testimony regarding the company and this will shine through to your prospect. There is no better way to testify than to have your own experiences with the product/service.

If you are not fully prepared and happily willing to use the product/service that you are going to promote and recruit for, then don’t join and find one that you can be proud of to use.

3.) Be Here One Year From Now

If you have found an opportunity that meets the criteria discussed above and you start recruiting and selling for this company, stick to it. Success doesn’t happen overnight. It will be important for you to stick around for the harvest. You will be planting seeds as you start off and may not see satisfactory results right away. Many get discouraged and drop out at this time. They become an awful statistic.

Don’t allow your seeds to be planted and then not be there for the harvest. If you truly know and believe your companies program is top notch, the product/service is great, and you aren’t seeing results, you WILL. You will get better at recruiting members and making sales. It’s an art form and doesn’t happen overnight. Farmers don’t just plant the seeds and show up at harvest. They plant the seeds, come back everyday and water, tend to the soil, etc….and THEN reap the rewards of the harvest.

4.) Fortune Is In The Follow Up

This goes back to the farmer. His follow up is considered the watering and nurturing of the seeds. He is “following up” in order to reap the rewards of the harvest. Timing is everything with your potential recruits and sales. Respect that the timing might not be right with a person at the moment but follow up with them. Let them know that you’re STILL involved, your business is growing, and that they are missing out. Following up with your potential prospects will prove to be profitable. Be respectful but persistent.

I am guessing that you can now see why it so important for you to know everything about the company, product/service, compensation plan, etc. Your enthusiasm must be genuine. If it is, your results will increase dramatically. It’s not always about the money. Remember that a business doesn’t start overnight. You WILL reach your harvest point as long as you are passionate and believe in what you’re promoting.
