Become the LEADER in your home business

When starting your home business you probably had a list of "to do's", right?  Advertise with free Classifieds, join Twitter, Google AdWords.  Developing leadership skills was probably not on their, having read magnetic sponsoring it should have been top of the list!

Thinking about it logically, when you work from home with YOUR online business who will make the decisions?  Who is responsible for the results generated?  Who dictates how much money you earn?  The answer to all of these questions is the same.........YOU!  It is you who makes any decisions on marketing, decisions on strategies; you are effectively both the leader and follower.

To add to this when you are contacted by leads what is it they are looking for?  A business model?  A particular product?  No, what they are looking for is a LEADER, someone they believe in, someone they see as successful and influential.

Developing into a leader is not something we can do overnight, its take time, investment in education, however there are steps you can take to speed up YOUR development.  At your next business seminar NETWORK!!  Get introduced to the people who are successful within your industry, ask them how they got to make such a success of their business, share experiences.

People who make the BIG money, who are recognised within industry do so because they are leaders.  Mike Dillard the author of Magnetic Sponsoring is a leader, people want to learn from him and be associated with him.  Stop selling your products as the main reason people should deal with you, sell yourself, people want a LEADER.

I want to finish with some free advice:

Re: The Celebrity Apprentice Finale Re: The Celebrity Apprentice Finale - I really do understand what you are saying, Kevin. I'm complaining because ethics are very important to me. In the real world, I want people on my team who are easy to work with and that I can trust. To me, it's not all about money, but I do understand this is why Piers won. I feel it's important to find the best LEADER who can still make money. A great leader can inspire people on his/her team to use their creativity and all their assets in a very successful way. A sketchy leader could hinder this process in the long run. For example, Piers and Amarosa could be efficient, but working in a toxic environment with either of them could get to me in the long run! I like what you said about Carol... she has been my favourite to win for a long time. I would have chosen her for sure! She knew business was business, but she didn't have to be unethical about it. Quite honestly, Trace was not my choice to win, but he was a better option for me than Piers. I'd love to work with Carol any day. Who would you want to work with?
How can I start home-based business? How can I start home-based business? - I am not sure what you mean by home-based and how my story can help but my home-based business is my web design business. I can work from home and go out to meet my clients. These times (When I'm out) is the most 'dangerous', because if clients need some files or if something didn't get through email, I'll need to find the nearest internet hot spot (i bring my external hard drive everywhere) to service the client or come up with an excuse. initially it was difficult, working from home and starting up. work was scarce but I knew it was only in the beginning. after 5 months, I have quite a constant flow of work but still the cheques are not that regular but its getting there. I met other people who has started home-based business and they range from travel agents to company secretaries. hope that helps
Using your home for collateral is one thing, but... Using your home for collateral is one thing, but... - Putting up your home for collateral is one thing, but utilizing the equity in it to finance a business is a whole other ball game and could be damaging in the long run. Do you know that if you completely finance your business with home equity instead of a busienss loan you will not be able to obtain a working capital loan later down the road? should you run into some financial troubles or wish to expand or remodel with working capital loan, you won't be able to get it if you finaced by personal means. It's always best to build a track record with a lender for future use and it's always better to be in business debt rather than personal debt. I always say: "You wouldn't hire a Plumber to do the Electrical in your home, so why would you finance a business using your home equity? Equity loans are for your home, business loans are for your business. You may however, utilize some of the equity in your home for loan down payment (depending upon your qualifications) and we can help determine whether that would be more helpful or damaging to your loan by pre-qualifying you for free. when using your home for collateral, it doesn't necessarily mean you will lose your home (in the event you cannot pay your loan payments). Lenders are always willing to work with you once you have a loan with them and they have already taken on the risk. they typically only utilize what they lien if nothing else can be resoloved (so it's basically a last resort) to go after what they lien.
Home Based Business Home Based Business - There are many types of businesses you can run from home. First, you need to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. What experience do you have that could be used in a business? Its also good to evaluate if you're the kind of person who can work for yourself. Not everyone should work for themselves and I know some who won't thrive because they aren't that kind of person. Not being mean, just realistic about some basic business info. I run my home improvement business from an office in my home. Its convenient and I save on outside office rent expenses. Chris
Office vs Home office Office vs Home office - [quote:jmbfd61m]You should not make your home place also an office place. [/quote:jmbfd61m] I have to disagree. It all comes down to a couple of things. If you have the type of business that can be run out of your home, and a large enough home to accommodate a properly-set up office... there's no reason not to do it! For Moms with kids there might be some boundary/daycare issues, but other than that... If yours is the type of business where you have to have clients in your office, then yes, I think you should have an office in a building - you don't really want clients to know your home address - but for all those businesses that don't require that... go for it!
