Leadership Is What People Buy Into

Ever wondered why the captain of the football team is the most popular kid in school?  Or why the CEO never buys a drink at the bar when at a conference?  Or even why Barack Obama has over 2 million followers on Twitter?  It's not because they are the coolest kid in school, that they are tight and don't like to spend money or even simple because they are the President of the United States, it is because they are all LEADERS, and people want to be associated with leaders!!

 

In all walks of life you will see this, in corporate business, school play grounds, on TV and most definitely on the internet.  It is for this reason that the most important thing you need to do when working from home with an online business is to develop your leadership skills!  Yes make sure you get your marketing right and that you are working with a system or product that is profitable, however, this is not the most important thing. 

 

Believe it or not when people are looking to start their own online business they are not looking for a particular product, or even to work within a certain network, they are in fact looking to work alongside a leader!

 

How do you become that leader people want?  I don't have any experience or success stories to share with anyone else?  What do I have to offer that people are willing to buy into?  These may be some of the questions you ask yourself at first, and they are good questions, questions you may think are hard to answer. 

 

In truth the answers are easier to answer than you would believe.  Becoming a leader is about many things, you have already begun the process by having the astuteness to research online business opportunities.  Many people are happy or should I say comfortable at living an existence rather that looking to see if there is anything better out there that will enhance their lifestyle.  The rest is down to education and association.

 

Through educating yourself at what other people did or what methods and theories have been tried and tested before you will arm yourself with knowledge, and remember "knowledge is power", to coin a phrase.  Therefore educate yourself, read industry literature sure as Magnetic Marketing, Black Belt Recruiting, Building on a budget to name a few. 

 

One last point which I touched on earlier, "association".  Next time you are at an industry conference or you are on a training course with some of the best known industry leaders present........ NETWORK!!  Study what it is they do that sets them apart, ask questions, they where once in your shoes!
