Think Like a Leader in Order to Become a Leader

Throughout all walks of life, within all publications, written press, TV, internet, you see leaders throughout the World. Have you ever sat and thought, "What is it they have that I don't have?" "How can I become the leader everyone else wants to imitate?", "Where they born to become a leader?", "Do they have anything that I simple will never have?" Now I have a question............What do all of these leaders have in common despite their different backgrounds?

BELIEF, DESIRE, and DETERMINATION. It is as simple as that!

Now if you honestly see yourself as an entrepreneur, and you simple need some guidance on what steps need to be taken to become successful, then I can help. And I won't charge you for this. However if you don't believe that you have the ability to achieve the lifestyle you dream of then I'm sorry you need to help yourself before I or anyone else can help you!

BELIEF is something that all leaders have, the belief that they can be successful with anything they decide to do. Please don't mistake this for arrogance, although there is a fine line. The belief that you can achieve what you so desire is all about MINDSET. As I mentioned earlier, until you have the belief in yourself you cannot progress in anything you do, this is imperative.

DESIRE is something else that drives leaders on. The desire to be the best, the leader, the figurehead that people want to imitate. Yes most leaders are fain, most enjoy being the centre of attention. But all have a desire to succeed; it is the reason they get up in the morning, or why they never fail to attend a conference, becoming successful and remaining successful is a desire for all leaders.

DETERMINATION is a trait that many people have, however leaders have this in abundance. The best leaders never stop until they have achieved what it is they set out to do. And once they achieve this they set a new target, which is harder again to achieve. Setting targets and achieving these is imperative to succeed in life.

If you have these 3 traits you can achieve anything in life. Yes you'll need to educate yourself, study industry leaders, find out what it is they do and how they do it, think like they do. But firstly and above all you need to believe in yourself. Once you have the right mindset you are on the right road, and your destination can be decided by you!

Blank text field might be better - Hi TheAnonymousMan, I like your idea! I'm assuming it would be similar to the status feature on Facebook where it might say "Kevin is ... " So I think having a blank text field in the profile box (and even "Leader" boxes on the left and top side of the forums if possible) might be more fun than just choosing from pre-set options from a drop down menu:D
Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Everyone, Gosh, I REALLY appreciate your concrete feedback. This was far more than I expected and I'm glad you said what you thought straight out. Each of you have shared something of value and I want to take some more time to think and really go over what each of you have said. However, I can see there are some things I need to change right away. What an interesting point about a NEW program perhaps making people think they are guinea pigs! This is NOT what I want to convey! It's funny how we can see some things so clearly in others while not always seeing it for ourselves! I must admit there are a few things I've been meaning to change (like my bio which is very outdated). Obviously, these things need to be higher on my priority list. You caught me like the plumber who puts his clients first and doesn't get around to fixing his own tap! As far as my target market, I do feel quite strongly about working with Women Leaders and doing Leadership Coaching with them. It's non-negotiable in my books. In my Executive Coaching training, the terms "Leaders" and "Executives" are interchangable. To me, an Executive is a Leader and so is the Business Woman or Entrepreneur who is CEO of her own business. I love working with decision makers! What I did learn is that I need to avoid opening up the Leadership term beyond what I described above. I'm also wondering if there is a misunderstanding with the general public as to what Leadership Coaching really is. Leadership Coaching is all about developing your leadership skills, both as a people manager and in more effectively running and growing the business. There is ALWAYS room for growth in some way. As well, sometimes, we just need a sounding board to clarify what our next BEST step is. In fact, if a woman thinks she has nothing to work on, then we aren't a good Client/Coach fit anyway. How can she grow if she doesn't see the value of expressing ALL of the great ability within her? How can her company grow if she doesn't see the value of strategic planning for the next best level? Thanks again to you all! I will go back to my website and really question whether I am conveying the right message. I got more than I bargained for in this Spotlight... you generously offered way more than I was asking. I think we could be on to something great for the Forum. I watch a lot of sports, and see the advertisements for the dramas, sitcoms, reality shows, and so on, that way, and so I can tell what they're about, and what kind of people the women portray, without actually having to watch them! What I'd like to see are TV shows that show women pilots, bicyclists, and so on. (I'd really like to increase the profile of bicyclists on city streets, because in the good ol' USA, even though drivers are supposed to share the road with cyclists, 9 out of 10 of em think cyclists are supposed to be on sidewalks. Have some big name actors like Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, riding through the streets on bikes urging people to do likewise...might do some good!) I'd like to see astronauts such as Shannon Lucid and Eileen Collins in programs, or the various female Air Force pilots (I just interviewed Donna Kohout, for example, first woman to fly a Nighthawk, for my Winged Victory webzine), etc. etc. The shows I watch are the DVDs of the ones I grew up with as a kid, The Avengers with John Steed and Emma Peel (Emma Peel was and is a role model for me), Banacek, Columbo, etc.! I used to watch Law and Order, too...but it's many spinoffs have never appealed....
