How Do Websites Use Cookies

On the web, cookies are something used by sites, not something you eat. So, how do websites use cookies?

How Do Websites Use Cookies Websites are incredibly interested in what their visitors do and where they go. The information lets the site know where the person came from, how often they visit and what pages they look at. Dubiously, cookies can also be used to track sites a person is visiting after leaving the site issuing the cookie.

A cookie is a rather simply piece of code that is placed on your server. How does it get there? When you visit a site, a particular procedure is followed from a technical point of view. When you click a link to the site or type in the domain, you make a request upon the server hosting the site. The server then sends you the file, a web page, which corresponds to the request you have made. The cookie is contained in the response and sits on your hard drive.

Cookies often get far more criticism than they deserve. In a vast majority of cases, the site issuing the cookie is merely trying to track data so it can manipulate its site and advertising. This helps visitors by giving them more pages they are interested in and eliminating uninteresting pages.

Cookies can often make life convenient as well. If you return to a site frequently, the cookie will often allow you to get into password protected areas without going through the login process. Admittedly, this is a minor benefit.

If the idea of cookies on your computer is offensive, you can remove most of them by taking minor steps. If you are using the Explorer browser, just click the "tools" button. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and click "Internet options." A popup should appear with a button in the middle of it with the words "delete cookies". Click it and you should be cookie free.

How do websites use cookies? Most use them to analyze their site.

Mathew E. Tamin is a 24 year old power house for the Kingdom of God. At the age of 7 Mathew accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In less than one week after accepting Christ into his life, the Lord Jesus appeared to Mathew in a dream and said, You shall establish my Kingdom and my Son Jesus will help you.Subsequent dreams of Christïcs appearances, angelic visitations, and visitation to Hell followed. While in high school, Mathew had a trance. In that trance, the Lord Jesus Christ showed him hell and what happens to those who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. After that experience, Mathew's life was never the same. Mathew graduated from college (Kean University) at the age of 20 with a B.A. in Psychology and an A.A. in Music. He was the president of the Kean University Gospel choir and very active in student government. He also had helped leadership positions in Campus Crusade for Christ, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Fresh Oil Ministries in college.

In 2005, Mathew founded Divine Destiny Ministries, a group of people who are on fire to save the lost souls from going to hell through his books and other ministry resources. Divine Destiny Ministries would later relocate to Rapid City, South Dakota. The primary ministry and motto of Divine Destiny Ministries is, Taking the Gospel to the Nations Matt 19:28. Most importantly, he has a passion to see the lives of people transformed by the power of God. Today, Divine Destiny Ministries is reaching over 100 countries in 45+ languages.
