Faith in Yourself Important for Your Successful Business

Embarking on any kind of business venture requires qualifications, administrative support, logistic support, financial back-up, a clear idea of what you are getting into, how you are going to achieve your goals AND a whole truckload of faith.

Faith??? Yes faith... faith in yourself because that is the most important qualification that any wannabe entrepreneur must have. If you believe in yourself, half the battle is won.

There are many aspects that one has to take into consideration if one wants to be a successful entrepreneur. Success is not something you dream of. It is a lot of hard work. We see so many extremely successful entrepreneurs around us and almost all of them started at the bottom of the ladder.

Start up businesses or established ones, whatever the situation is, the goals of both are the same. Both want to make profit as the final outcome of all their hard work. Faith in yourself is important for your successful business.

Faith comes hand in hand with confidence. You have the confidence in yourself you have faith. You stick your head in the sand and expect to work miracles, sorry, that is not going to happen at all.

On the other hand, having faith in one's self does not mean you go tooting your own trumpet. There is such a thing as being over-confident.

A successful entrepreneur always:

Believing in yourself is your ticket to putting irrational complexes and doubts about yourself behind you. Saying "Yes I can" as against "I can't" or even a "Can I?" is what you have to do. If you believe you can, your colleagues, clients, bosses will also have confidence in your capability.

You know you can contribute but you just lack the confidence to accept it, you can't see the value of your contribution. So the next time you contribute to some venture sit back and think how you felt once it was done and done successfully.

Did you feel...

So you felt ALL of the above or maybe 2/6. You liked how you felt. Did you realise that you just gave yourself a self-esteem boost. Your inner perception established your input giving you a sense of achievement. The value of your achievement showed you that you have the inspiration and desire to forge ahead. You have faith in yourself.

Faith in yourself is important in your successful business because having faith in yourself gives you the confidence to move on, gives your business associates confidence in your capabilities, gives your clients an assurance that their job will be done and all of these leave you with a high that no other can create.

You know you have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur you just need to believe in it.

Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - Hi Yinka, I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent"). We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!
