How can Outsourcing Help Small Business Grow Fast

Guest post by: Carrie Langstroth

Article Overview: Contrary to big businesses that can afford to hire people across different geographical locations and place them in offices across the country, small businesses are limited by their resources and options to look for ‘specialists’ in their locality only; this is when outsourcing becomes a boon; if used correctly, of course.

How can Outsourcing Help Small Business Grow Fast

Outsourcing has pretty much become synonymous with the catchphrase "being Bangalored", but the benefits of outsourcing can outweigh the cons, especially when your idea of the American Dream does not amount to commuting daily to your workplace only to be confined in a cubicle.

If you are an entrepreneur with not enough time to juggle every aspect of your business, here's what you can do to minimize the burden, get some qualified, dedicated people to work for you, and still hold on to the reins of your 'baby':

There are many service marketplaces that allow you to check out freelancers' writing samples, post business project requirements and let people 'bid' on your project; all by just signing up for an account.

Virtual Assistants can be a huge blessing because they provide administrative, technical and creative support by letting you hire people on a contractual basis. See the International Virtual Assistants Association website for more information.

A handy tip, initially, avoid signing people up for long term contracts unless you have conducted a 'test run' and are satisfied with the outcome of the first task that's been handed to them.

Time management with regards to outsourcing needs to be handled proactively because managing contract help can prove to be a challenge if not done the right way.

All entrepreneurs are looking for ways to cut costs and save valuable time and money while ensuring productivity is never compromised. Leasing some of your work to third parties can be a boon once you have tapped the right resources and get a team of specialists to take charge of delegated areas and produce results that will help push your business in the right direction. Identify which areas need your 100% and focus on that instead of scattering your attention everywhere and trying your level best to be a superhuman.

Re: Should a start-up outsource early? Re: Should a start-up outsource early? - Outsourcing is not a mature-business function. It's a process that can be utilized at any spot in the business life cycle. I think outsourcing is a fantastic way to reduce expenses, and maintain quality work. Small businesses can benefit greatly from outsourcing data entry, web programming, and other similar tasks.
