Use Your Subconscious Mind to Remove Mental Blocks

A Block blocks, but while a block in the pipes or on the roads can be removed, the block that brought your work to a grinding halt is not so easy to get rid of.

In fact, your block is more of the mental kind and it results in a fair amount of frustration, despondency and even stress. Not to mention that it is extremely exasperating and annoying trying to do work when your brain simply refuses to co-operate.

What causes it?

You hit a mental block when you lose your train of thought smack in the middle of your work. Confusion is said to be one of the main causes of mental blocks. Confusion can upset your natural rhythm and stride.

When your mind is clear, thoughts flow in and out and you know exactly what needs to be done. And, it gets done just the way you visualized it to. You are inspired by some unknown force that just propels you forward and then WHAM! You stop!! Something threw up an uncertainty, a doubt and even fear. But what?

Your first step is to 'identify' and 'accept' that you have hit a block. Your next should take you away from the scene. Take a walk let the fresh air blow the cobwebs out of your mind. Deep breaths will send in lots of oxygen to your lungs which in turn refreshes the mind.

Did you know...? That your subconscious mind is your biggest ally?

The subconscious mind works on a different level. For some, it serves as the power of intuition, while for the rest it instinctively tells when to stop and when to go.

What you need to learn is to use the power of your subconscious mind to remove the mental block.

"I can do it" should be your first mantra. Let your subconscious mind teach you to listen to your own thoughts. Positive thinking and a systematic approach will help regain your balance.

Your problem may not be as intense as you think it to be. Your conscious mind is telling that you have reached the mountain you cannot climb. However, your subconscious mind does not accept it and somewhere you feel, "it's not that bad" and there you have your first positive thought. Catch that thought, don't let it slip away and work with it. Let the other thoughts following this come alive.

This is you letting your subconscious mind help remove the mental block you stumbled upon. You just have to help it do its job with free flowing happy thoughts, no negatives allowed, no "if's and buts".

Gardening reduces stress Gardening reduces stress - Hi Anon, In my case I think that my physical health does suffer - and I am pretty sure I am not doing a great job taking care of it. Finding the time to exercise seems impossible. The more probably reality is that I dislike going to a gym so it just isn't important enough for me to find the time. Mental health is different - I try to purposely set aside some time each week to recharge a little, sometimes it's a simple as going into my backyard and doing some gardening. Dead-heading flowers for about half an hour is pretty much stress free. If I really need a break I go to my cottage for the weekend - no cable, no internet and no phone.
Big Button! Big Button! - Hey Evan, there's a big button bottom right! Mind you, it's always interesting when people miss what might seem obvious to others - how many others might be in the same boat? So it's always great value to consider all feedback! Personally, I liked the button, yet perhaps it could be a bit brighter maybe...

I have been a moderator of numerous forums over the years and currently moderate 5 forums including this one, so I HATE forum spam more than anyone. It seriously drives me crazy. All posts that even hint at the possibility of being spam should be removed. Anyone who does it repeatedly should be banned from the forum permanently.
