Testimonials May Benefit You More Than You May Think

For years I have written testimonials for about every product and service I have purchased or been involved with. Why? Because I'm a nice guy? Nope! I do it for me. Well, not completely. Writing a testimonial today can offer a way to brand yourself, and in many cases get a link back to your website. But it is in how you write the testimonial that matters more. I have had several testimonials be placed at the top of the testimonial page of a number of company's. You can do this by over doing it just a little, you know, really ham is up about the company!

At the same time, write it so that others that read it learn that you are someone they would like to know more about, or know more about what you do.

Which brings me to the next point, it is fine to drop a word or two about what you do...

That's enough, make sure this is a small percent of your testimonial.

Make it long enough to impress the reader that you cared enough to share your heart. But not too long that they wont read it. And, break it up so it looks and reads well into one or two sentience paragraphs.

Lastly, don't forget to sign it and add your website url. Say Thank You, do not say Thanks. Thanks is for takers - shifting eyes. Thank "You" is a giver - eye contact. People want to do business with a giver, not a taker.

Thank you

Re: What or Who Sparks Your Business Interest Re: What or Who Sparks Your Business Interest - It's interesting to see what the different motivations are by Age Category. I've noticed this around me: 20 to 29yr olds: Motivator: Money 30 to 39yr olds: Motivator: Success/Ambition 40 to 49yr olds: Motivator: Family comes first 50 to 59yr olds: Motivator: Leaving a legacy i've only gone that far in my analysis. Of course this is a braid generalization but I find that it helps direct my marketing to individuals in different age brackets. The product/service can be the same but the Marketing message (Benefit Statement) to a 20 year will revolve around "Money" vs. a 30-something would be on their "Self Image"
Dramatized the product Dramatized the product - Tough one... It's going to have t be a mix of different media. 1. Testimonials of current owners of the product and how it's helped them. This can be done thru Video and print 2. Somehow I believe there will have to be Video of it being "dramatized" 3. People of influence will have to support or sponsor the product. just some that came to mind..

I like this idea of testimonials from current business owners of the product. But what if there aren't any to start? 2. I see your point about there being a need for video dramatization, but as a consumer, do you really buy into them yourself? Where's the authenticity from a dramatization? A security system can be expensive to install for your retail business, so you may not want to invest in something just because someone on TV is telling you to do so. 3. I think your 3rd suggestion has the best potential though! Personally, I would suggest holding a contest to award someone like a marketing student a $500 to $1000 prize for being able to come up with the most creative way to market this security product. It's an inexpensive campaign that could help to generate a lot of buzz (and even be featured as a "story" on a local news channel).
Re: Quick Ways To Utilize SEO Effectively Re: Quick Ways To Utilize SEO Effectively - There are many different types of content: blog content, website content, newsletter content, audio & video content, the list can be endless. I'll just list 10 types of website content here: * Index/Introduction * Product Descriptions * Testimonials * Reviews * Resources * How-to Information * Downloads * Contact Information * Navigation/Site Map About/Company Info Anchor text as the others have said is the hyperlinked words on a web page - the words you click on when you click a link. Anchor text is important because it tells the search engines what the page is about. Used wisely, it boosts your rankings in search engines, especially in Google. If you use "click here" as the words people are going to click on, you're telling people the page is about the subject "click here", which is not the phrase you want to rank highly for, the text you need to use is a keyword that you have chosen for your website, blog or article. Take care, Carol

As far as I know, it is important to use your main keywords as anchor text which lead back to your website or blog, because that is ultimately where you want your readers to go. MichelleJ
