Are There Any Legitimate Work from Home Jobs?

A common question from people searching online is, "Are there any legitimate work from home jobs?" The truth is, there are very few real, legitimate work from home jobs. Most of the ads for work from home jobs that you see on the Internet are not legitimate. They are just looking for desperate people to prey upon. There are tons of plans out there that sound so easy and suck you in and turn out to be garbage. The rare companies that do offer work from home jobs seldom need to advertise on the Internet.

Some of the work from home jobs that you need to beware of are: Taking Surveys

Reading e-mail for money

Mystery shopper

Assembly jobs

Medical Billing

Email Processing

Lists of companies looking for home workers

Calling this 1-900 Number For Information

Envelope Stuffing

Typing At Home

Processing Claims

Posting Ads

Data Entry Jobs

There are others as well. Think logically about what is being offered. Does the pay promised sound legitimate? Would a company really pay an individual to do this for them? Most things a company wants to outsource, like processing claims, it will outsource to a company that specializes in that particular service.

There are legitimate work from home opportunities on the Internet. They are businesses that you can run from your computer and the comfort of your own home. These are different from work from home jobs. In a job, you trade your time for money. In a business, you have the chance to build something for your future.

Your best option if you are looking for a legitimate work form home job, is to have an Internet business. There are over 1½ billion people on the Internet. That is a huge customer base. You don't need all the people on the Internet; you just need to reach a very small percentage to have a very successful business.

Since the launch of the Internet, life has changed for all of us. The Internet connects all the people of the world together in a very unique way. News and information of all types is now available in a blink of time through an Internet search.

More and more commerce is done over the Internet every year. This alone is a great reason to start your own online business. There are many advantages to having an online business.

Advantage 1 - It is much cheaper to start an online business than a traditional brick and mortar business. Many online businesses start with a single personal computer or laptop and an Internet connection.

All businesses need to advertise their product or service. Before the Internet, businesses spent thousands of dollars on TV, radio, print media and direct mail. With the advent of the Internet, businesses can contact their customers by e-mail for virtually nothing. There is no need to rent a fancy office or buy expensive office furniture. Your kitchen table will do just fine. You can even work in your pajamas, so no need to buy expensive suits or business clothing.

Advantage 2 - Time efficiency. The Internet makes it possible to reach millions of people instantaneously. It also allows you to do something, like create a web site, which can last for years on the web. It is there for people to find and to buy things from you. You do the work once and reap the benefit for the long term.

There is no longer any need to waste time battling rush hour traffic. You can run your business from anywhere, any time of the day. You can even start your business on a part time basis while you are working your regular full time job. Once you get an income rolling in from your new venture, you will be able to quit your full time job and you will be able to run your business with just a few hours a week. You will then be able to enjoy life and things that you want to do.

Advantage 3 - No employees needed. Employees are a huge drain on any business. Managing and hiring, supervising, training, paying, providing benefits, all drain the business of valuable resources. With an online business, you can do most things yourself. The things you cannot do yourself, you can have other companies do for you. You don't have to have multiple employees. The computer and the Internet are happy workers, slaving away for you night and day, holidays and weekends. They never complain. They don't get sick. They just keep doing whatever it is you told them to do.

Advantage 4 - Be your own boss. No longer will anyone tell you how many hours a day to work or what to do. You get to decide when you want a vacation. If you are sick, you can stay in bed and your business can just hum along for a few days while you recover. You can even take an extended vacation. Just take along a laptop and you can check on things and make sure everything is running smoothly.

Advantage 5 - Unlimited potential. Since the whole world is your customer base, your income is literally unlimited. The better you get at Internet marketing, the more money you can make in the same amount of time. You can also start other online businesses and have several running at the same time.

Considering all the advantages of having an online business, this is an option you will want to consider, if you are looking for a legitimate way to work from home. You have a much better chance with your own business that you are in control of, than you will looking to see if there are any legitimate work from home jobs. Your future is in your hands. What will you do with it?

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? - Thanks for sharing with us Yinko. Steve Jobs is definitely a visionary. Not only his products are innovative in a technological sense, but he's managed to turn a tech-company's products into a lifestyle.... a lifestyle!! [quote:zfqoq43n]Fast Forward to today. Apple has the sexiest products in the business: iMacs, Macbooks, iPhones, iPods and more.[/quote:zfqoq43n] I think not only tech would be different (music players and phones), but ways we can think of marketing and branding. What Steve Jobs did was of course no easy task for the smaller businesses, but he did start somewhere. What I did not know was that Apple is worth about as much as Google. How do you think Apple accomplish what they did? In terms of strategy wise? If you could advice Steve on one thing, what would it be?
Re: Are you getting an iPad 2? Re: Are you getting an iPad 2? - @GT - we can talk more about it once I get one and I'm happy to answer any questions to see if it might fit your lifestyle. @Yinka - Sorry, no payment from Steve Jobs... I wish!
