In Hot Pursuit of Your Dreams

Are you up at the crack of dawn to pursue your goals and dreams? Do you work late to get to everything you wanted to during the day? Is your life in hot pursuit of the desires, dreams and passions that you have found on this earth? Or not?

Motivation is key to beginning the first step. You must believe in what you are doing. You must believe that what you are doing will have an impact and make a difference in someone’s life, including your own.

In order to continue and make your life a slight edge life, it is important to take stock in your self at the moment.

Once that vision has occurred, the plan crafted, written down and studied, the first step takes place.

As a baby taking their first step, walking to their future, ultimate faith in yourself has happened. You do believe in yourself, your dreams and your goals by getting on your own path of a wonderful, or challenging life, the one you choose.

The plans that you design ought to encompass the very important areas in your life of health, finances, careers, relationships, your personal development and your dreams for your own life. Spend time in reflection to properly craft each area in the way you wish to begin. But realize that as the bird in mid flight is constantly adjusting the path with their brain and wings, so too will your plans alter and become changed by the very fact that you have gone beyond the initial step.

Johann Goethe said that what we dream about or think we can, do we must begin. For in the phrases

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” lies our call to action, with or without the perfected plan of action. Rather our modus operandi must always be plan and do and then regroup, reflect and act again. In the second tier of acting lies greater wisdom for the subsequent plans to be performed and the ensuing achievements.

In the field of education there is a theory that is called the spiral learning theory. This is particularly well applied to music learning, yet its application serves extremely well in business also. In music, first, the basic concepts are learned. Then these same concepts are revisited in increasingly difficult repertoire or music. The concepts come to have deepened meaning and transcend the basic initial stage of learning to have wide applications in any music that one may encounter.

In the field of business, the same ideas hold true. When one has certain “core competencies” to master in achieving the goals. These competencies must first be learned, then applied in initial endeavors and then in later situations as one matures in business arenas.

So go ahead and make that first plan of action. Then learn from your experience, deepen your understanding of your purpose and your goals, and finally move to applying your mastery in whatever situations you find yourself in to help others in business and life endeavors.

Re: The secret to happiness Re: The secret to happiness - Happiness comes from within. We choose whether we want to be happy or not. Circumstances can influence our feelings, but in the end, it's up to us how we deal with our circumstances, positively or negatively. I admire anyone who can stay strong and be happy through adversity. There will always be challenges that we face, but I believe that if we face them with our heads held high, the odds of overcoming them are much greater. This reminds me of the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness." Happiness spelled wrong for a reason. One of Will Smith's greatest movies. I encourage you all to watch it as it's very inspiring.
Re: Millionaire or Happyness? Re: Millionaire or Happyness? - [quote="mphcoach":2xpspnai]I recently watched the movie 'In Pursuit of Happyness' and was rather disappointed that the 'happiness' achieved was merely the accumulation of wealth.[/quote:2xpspnai] Hi Martin, I actually loved the movie, and interpret the "pursuit of happyness" as Chris Gardner setting a goal in life and then reaching it through the process of hard work and a fighting spirit. In fact, I once heard that people who work harder are actually happier than those who are talented. The logic behind this mindset is that people tend to enjoy their success more when they feel they've struggled to earn it. However, I still think a person is better off being rich and unhappy, rather than being poor and unhappy.

[/quote:lgfsn9gb] Money definitely can make things easier, but of course the main wealth in life is health. If you do not have your health you do not have anything, as anyone who suffers from a chronic disease can tell you! 1) Health 2) Family (whether it's you and your relatives, or you and your own spouse and rugrats) 3) Enough money to live comfortably First thing a parent should do for their kid is start them with a savings account. Even if you only get 1% interest these days - and how obscene is that! - it gets them accustomed to the idea of saving. Too many people these days spend up to their income, and, thanks to credit cards, beyond. That's one of the main barriers to developing wealth - digging a pit when you're young that you have to spend the rest of your lfe digging out of.
